Change to the Lounge Rules?

@Diamond Damien @Apricot It might be time for a change to the Lounge rules as threads like the following are just stupid and potentially damaging to the reputation of BHW

The thread might be funny if the dude wasn't serious. The guy has made disturbing threads in the past.

Pretty sure ridiculous clown threads like this turn off a lot of real marketers/professionals from joining this forum.

There has been an increase in stupid f#cking lounge threads recently, I just picked this one at random.

I understand The Lounge was open for the discussion of ANY topic but I think people are pushing the boundaries of taste and decency.

I am all for having an Adult Section where serious discussion can be held on how to make money from that niche but I don't think we need a loser section where guys can moan about not getting laid, threads like that just encourage trolling. The guy clearly has issues with women and he isn't going to get the help he needs from a marketing forum.

I am all in for this, the thread quality has decreased in the past year or so, I rarely see new golden nuggets anymore.
But I just posted one of the stupid threads on Lounge so I might give it a chill for now.

Personally I would close the lounge completely. Nice idea on adult section, at the least a good way for those not wishing to work that niche to avoid it.

I think a thread purge should happen, with threads that never got answered or spammy threads.

Why close the lounge? If you buy a basket of apple and one or two is rotten do you throw the entire basket?

What rules need to be is not to allow to post with mobile number in threads, asswqe kind of thread titles.

I hope BHW 2.0 will address these issues.

That is just my opinion and it obviously wont happen, personally I find it a complete waste of time which only increases my despair at humanity if I ever accidentally click on and of that useless crap.

There are threads from 2009 that are still unanswered, I am pretty sure users from that time don't even remember BHW, this SHOULD happen and probably will in BHW 2.0

I understand your point, but my point is: a thread being unanswered doesn't make it shitty .

As long as a thread is not irrelevant, I don't see why it should be removed for any reason whatsoever.


Crux of the matter here is: threads that are irrelevant shouldn't be made to remain active on BHW.

I think the staff is busy working on BHW 2.0 and they'll most probably end up fixing this issue in that update.

Purging or deleting any threads is not a good move. You want to have content.
Inactive threads are inactive, you won't see none of them anywhere close to the top.

Removing Lounge is not an option since it is part and forum tradition.
Lounge section is not visible to search engines, so it won't hurt outside space.

Solution: Give users an option to block entire Lounge sections from recent threads, or something similar.
I don't like more than %50 of threads there. Pure BS and trolls competing in posting of better nonsense.

I think there is some merit in your thought process, @Asif WILSON Khan, not sure what the best move would be though.

I usually handle those threads like an ex-wife and ignore them although sometimes I'll put my staff hat on to make sure things don't get out of hand.

It could be done in a way if technicalities of the website allows it. Make the lounge forum exclusive of the main forums that shows on a main BHW page.
New threads would not be visible to new and old visitors unless they explicitly want to go there for that purpose

I agree 100%, this is a legit issue, I really think the mods and damien need to look into it, you say it right when you talk about it damaging the reputation, I showed a business friend bhw a couple of weeks back and when he did take a look there was a pile of crap like the threads you talk about and he just thought it was (4)chan for marketers.

I really hope the mods and whoever can understand what we are saying and take a look at it. It's really become a downer for bhw for me.

@Asif WILSON Khan @BassTrackerBoats please take a quick look at the thread @jamie3000 posted above also about this, It mentions some other threads connected and shows the problem more, I put a bigger reply there also, this is becoming a fuck up.

@BassTrackerBoats - I think a good move would just be to close any real poisonous threads before they gain traction? Or you could have a downvote button which takes them off the homepage for everyone when it gets enough downvotes you know the threads im talking about they are so plain to see and I know you probably see them and sigh.

I think the lounge, yeah sure its a massive waste of time BUT I don't think that's the problem, I think the problem is those real fucked up stupid threads which should just be purged the moment they come about like the emotional spam that they are. These poisonous threads need sorting out before they start to get bigger, its so clear to identify them.
