This is a long read & I am going to update this thread regularly based on your responses!
Keep in mind this is mostly White-Hat stuff and towards noobs/influencers.
Nowadays Instagram Influencers seem to be struggling to keep their audience engaging or even get one, today I will show you everything you need to know so YOU can get a Hyper-engaging audience and keep it that way!

Hashtags
Everything you read about Instagram mentions Hashtags and how powerful they are but they never teach you how to use them to their full potential, no worries I am going to show YOU how to DOMINATE THE HASHTAG GAME.

Every article gives you their list of "100 top hashtags to use" and all that engagement killing no-sense, the magic is in a low competition but high demand hashtags, think about it! You don't want your post to be drawn in a sea of thousands of other posts that are liked by bots that offer no value other than the satisfaction of the moment, I and every smart "Influencer" sure as hell wouldn't want that for his page!

So how the fuck do I find those magic and life-saving keywords! Well, there is some work that needs to be done, first go to https://hashtagify.me/hashtag/tbt this will generate related tags based on your original hashtag. Under each tag, you can then see its popularity, correlation to the tag you entered and their trends. if you don't know what your starting hashtag should take a look at https://www.tagsforlikes.com/ it gives you a list of hashtags that belong to the category of your picture. Those are my go-to tools when it comes to hashtag research, but don't forget one of the best ways, take a sneak peek at what your competitors are doing and if it's working, copy it! You don't need to re-invent the wheel, just simply use it to your advantage!

The tools I mentioned above will help you generate a huge list of relevant hashtags but you still have to organize and select the best hashtags that will optimize your results. I like doing this using Excel, I organize them by popularity (number of posts), after you have cultivated the list with hashtags you need to select them. Throw out the trashy hashtags and leave the ones that will make your posts appear before users eyes.

  • Inconsistent/nonmatching hashtags with your account. If you are running a restaurant account, you will want to remove hashtags like: #follow4follow, #firstpost, #like, #nice. They provide no value to the type of the account & they don't reflect the purpose of it.
  • Explicit hashtags. Using explicit hashtags will put your account in danger of being limited, banned or closed. Use https://iqhashtags.com/banned tool to find out if your hashtag is banned.
  • Overrated/viral hashtags. These are hashtags that have an incredible amount of posts and new posts will pop up every minute. Unless you have an account that can reach the "Top Posts" section, I would advise against using them.
Now that we have narrowed down our list we must select hashtags that are relevant to:

  1. Your (sub)-niche e.g., #bracelets #resistancebands etc.
  2. Location and time you are posting e.g., #breakfast, #nightlife, #sunrise, #london, #brooklyn, etc.
  3. The hashtag popularity and your account size should be considered. Compare your account size to the number of posts under that hashtag. Your account size (in followers) should be 10-20% of the total number of posts, by doing this there is a greater chance that your post will end up under the "Top Posts" section of that hashtag.
Lastly, you can also improve your hashtag use by identifying the (current) content on your account, if you have bright, colourful images try selecting more emotion spiking hashtags e.g., #happy.

For brands that want to run giveaways to increase exposure, you can focus on using contest hashtags e.g., #giveaway.

If you use the "tricks" mentioned above and you get a post under the "Top Posts" section in the hashtag you where targeting, you can use that to leverage new posts by using the same targeted hashtag because Instagrams algorithms promote your new contact if it matches the same criteria as the one that got into "Top Posts" did.

Another PROTIP is that if you are posting multiple times a day using some kind of software or if you just post by "hand" multiple times, it's better to use less than the limit (30 hashtags) and use 25 - 18 or even 5 hashtags so you are in the safe side of the spectrum and don't end up getting "https://triberr.com/instagram-shadowban-tester".

Using the "strategies" I just taught you will make your ENGAGEMENT SKYROCKET!

Engagement Groups
If you are interested in Instagram and growing quickly you have probably heard about Engagement Groups, are they worth it?

Depends

I know, you were probably waiting for a Yes or No answer, but think about it, you probably pay someone to get into the group (mostly telegram based) and every time you post something new you share the post to the group and people like your new post.

How does that benefit me? Well, the whole idea is that in the group the people there own accounts with a high amount of followers, so every time they like your post there is a greater chance one of their followers sees it.

But why does it still depend? Well most of the time you have to pay a hefty amount of money to get into a group where people have a decent amount of following that is not made through "follow/unfollow" plus you have to do a good amount of research so you can find a group that has Instagram accounts in the same niche as yours.

In conclusion, if you have money to invest in something like this go for it but there are way too many variables to make this a Yes or No question.

Should you buy FAKE Engagement?
Is this the HACK TO INSTAGRAM GROWTH? Even though It might boost your ego and sometimes get you more authority in the eyes of new potential followers it will probably hurt you in the long-term.

So if you are aiming for a brand it might be helpful to potential customers think you are a "known" brand, but in general, it is not advised because when you finally stop purchasing engagement your statistics will drop dramatically as well as that short-term ego boost.

I AM BY NO MEANS A INSTAGRAM GOD BUT I LIKE TO SHARE MY IDEAS AND DISCOVERIES.
IF YOU WANT TO SHARE A OPINION OR A TRICK FEEL FREE TO DO SO.

Why did you copy and paste this from @IGKing forum dear  Especially the hashtags part!!! Me see some slightly spinning, but still...
Its supposed to be an all in 1 thread dear, I will give credit, here take a biscuit.

Thanks for the post, but it seems odd to take content from elsewhere then credit someone at the end of it.

I am still working on the credits part, I am building my "Instagram Handbook" thats why I use content from other people, I was not supposed to share this but I thought why not.
If IGking wants that section removed or his thread link I am more than happy to do that.
