How many backlinks should I make if competitor have 4 backlinks?

I want to rank for one keyword with search volume is about 60,000 and top 5 results have almost 4-5 backlinks from unique domains.
How many links should I make to outrank these sites?

the main thing is, how many of these backlinks are quality backlinks. It could be that you can outrank with only one backlink.
However its also possible they have hidden pbn backlinks

On a serious note, it is not all about the backlinks. Are those websites well optimized? Are the ranked pages from authority sites like amazon and such?

I know bro, they are just medium authority sites with almost no on-page. I just need backlinks which I will build on pbn and profile links

I don't think it would be easy to find their hidden links. If they are using PBN Links, the domains must be blocking all the popular crawlers so you just need to find a good and unpopular crawler that people don't know of and BAM! Btw, good luck with finding such a site lol

On a serious note, just make sure your on page is good and then focus on quality links. Build links until you outrank all the competition. Start with like 5 quality links and see where it takes you. If needed more, build more.

How much time it takes to get results, but I am sure I don't think they have any hidden pbn because I checked top 5 ranking sites backlinks and I didn't find much difference. They have links and hardly 1-2 links are indexed on google and rest are not ranking in google

Apart from high DA backlink is there any other factor to consider while checking for quality backlinks... there was a forum website i tapped in backlink from they have DA: 91 but the site niche is totally different from mine, will that affect my ranking in a bad way?

OP, if you want to check if they have some hidden backlinks, try to use some backlinks service similar to majestic/ahrefs but not so popular (they can't block all of the crawlers).
Or
You can check whether they have some naked url backlinks indexed by searching on google for: "domainname.com" (including the quotes).

Don't worry about how many, worry about how good. Get a better link than them, get a rock solid link from a real authority site, not some spamtastic high DA site.

Ranking position depends on many factors. You should compare not only the quality and quantity of links but your site optimization. You could have more good links but your on-page SEO would be weaker so good links wouldn't help you in this case.

My advice - start placing links. Place 5 or more and monitor, if you don't get higher you should take a look at your website.
