Wow, I didn't expect that many people could die of a Tsunami... Here in Italy there's chaos when only 5 person dies and some injured because of a "natural disaster"

We have yet to experience anything remotely resembling a tsunami in Germany, but I'm grateful that it's probably not going to change anytime soon. The intriguing part about the tsunami in Indonesia is that the signals weren't able to pick it up, which means they had no time to evacuate. But then again, the volcano acted on its own without major warnings too (it seems).

Unfortunately yes, and a lot more if a strong one. Nearly quarter of a million people died in the 2004 one. (in many countries)

That's a scary fact. 2 days ago, I was out celebrating with my friends & we witness a kid about my age riding a motorcycle, slammed by 2 cars, & died on the spot. Life is tragic & anything can happen at any time. Appreciate all moments in life.

This, combined with lack of food, medical treatment and its just hard to get supplies into some remote areas where roads have been destroyed.

Hope those who are lost are found in good condition ... and that 2019 is kinder to this country! I didn't even know tsunamis could happen without warning. That is terrifying.

Most people death were at the beach when the tsunami came and houses there were built by wood so the tsunami easily swept them away
