C++ learnt it much time ago and I really liked it.

I love Python and it's #1 choice for backend (Django), web scraping (Scrapy), but I have to say I'm really impressed were JavaScript heading.

Native Desktop Apps? - Check Electron
Native Mobile Apps? - Check React Native
Frontend? - Check React
Backend? - Check NodeJs

And you can find outstanding apps in each category, opposite to Python where for example in Python, you can also build desktop apps using frameworks like PyQt, but you won't find any enterprise level applications.

If python is available for the project environment, for sure, Python. Love Django!

Otherwise, C# or PHP.

Every programming language has it's pros and cons, but I love and use C# mostly, I am glad I chose it back then in 2011 when I first started to learn programming.

My favorite is C# because in 2018:

1. You can develop secure and clean web based apps or websites with ASP.NET Core MVC technology with C#, and it's even open source and cross platform so it can even work on linux hosting. And there are a lot of job opportunities by companies for this framework.

2. You can develop games with Unity 3D game engine with C#.

3. You can develop desktop based / windows forms applications with C#.

4. You can develop cross platform (Android / iOS / Windows) mobile applications with C#, Xamarin.

C++, C#, with those 2 languages you can pretty much do everything nowadays.
