Hey BHW,

Total new-jack here. I am running a couple artist pages for musicians and I am trying to figure out what the most efficient way to go about growing the accounts would be without obviously risking them being banned/etc.

I understand that, ultimately, this will be a lot of work. I am fine with that and have time every day to dedicate to manually messaging/interacting with potential fans.

What do I need to know and where is a good place for me to start learning?

I'm an artist myself, what i suggest is the actual child account that's blowing up around here as it seems to be the fastest and best way to get results if you do it correctly but your gonna need to invest alot as well as have alot of time in your hands.

Unless the artist are already well known there's really much you can't do unless you get a co-sign by Drake like how Blueface did .... lol

Hello,

I think fanpage strategy will suits your needs if you have enough budget. You can hire someone to do it for you or you can learn almost everything you need here in BHW. It will be hard in the beginning but is very worth it. Just search for "child account" "fan page strategy" , etc. Here in BHW, and you will find a lot of threads about it.

Cheers,
David.

When you say "invest", I assume you mean financially. What dollar amount would be appropriate? Also, my artist is more in the Rock/Metal world. Signed to a record label and has had exposure on SiriusXM and terrestrial radio. If that matters at all in creating a mental picture for you.

This is very helpful, thank you. What kind of budget should I expect to invest for a Rock/Metal act that is growing on radio/siriusxm in the US?

Hi,

Beyond budget I'll think in goals. So for instance, I need 100k followers in 6 months. Or 500k followers in 1 yr. Then think about budget needed for achieving those high numbers.

Cheers,
David.

So, if I wanted to get 150k followers in 12 months, what would the rough cost of that be? I am trying to gauge in dollars/cents how serious of a financial investment we are talking about here, because I have no idea right now.

Hello,

If done correctly, it will be anything between $8 and $12k usd approx along the year.

Cheers,
David.

Child account method is your best bet. Buy 1-2 raspberry pi's (1 for your own virgin proxies and the second one to run a bot) and grow that shitty account to XXXXXX of followers. IMO everyone and their grandma is a "music artist" that wants to grow his account

How do I handle the proxies? Can you point me to a thread or information source explaining the process of setting up a raspberry pi for that purpose? I understand that the child accounts require their own IP addresses, separate from the parent account. They need to look like "real people" to IG.

Appreciate your anecdote about the seemingly endless supply of "artists" out there.

I would also like to know the strategies you are using to grow new account in instagram. I'm new to IM need some Instagram tutorial.

^ Gives you a basic idea on how to make a proxy server (I will buy another Rasberry Pi just for this)
^How to setup instapy bot(you would be better of hiring someone to code a something specifically for running child accounts)

It seems to me my biggest issue is making sure that each of my child accounts is accessing IG from a virgin IP address. I watched the video on installing Squid and actually already own a Pi. I see how to configure squid as a proxy server now, but how do I ensure that my child accounts won't appear "linked" to IG, given that they will be managed by a singular program on a singular machine?

Most if not all social media bots allow you to use proxies so every action that is performed is performed through the proxy thus not tracing back anything to you. The easiest way is going out there and buying proxies but I personally don't trust others in this kind of situation where 1 of their mistakes could fuck up all of my hard work.

What would be the alternative to buying proxies, then?

get your name out there by commenting on other music videos

Already doing that and more. There is a pretty big community of bands like ours that we interact with. I'm more concerned with supplementing those regular activities with child accounts to help funnel traffic into our way so we can spend more time interacting with people who are already interested, as opposed to "hey mister-ing" every Tom, Dick, and Harry on the internet by hand.

There are a few child account methods:

Child accounts you should build up as real as possible on multiple services: instagram / soundcloud / twitter.
Then repost / retweet the main account regularly as well as posting their media / links on other services (so link to their soundcloud on twitter, or youtube tracks etc)

The other way is more spammy. Use your child army accounts to spam comments / DM trying to push the user to the main page. Can work well, but you need to be careful as is a thin line between effective and all out spam annoying. This way will also cause you to lose accounts more often

Does Instadub support the use of dedicated proxies for each child account? I checked out your website and I even know a couple people that use your program, but neither the website nor my friends could answer my question. Also, is there an integrated account creation process like in Jarvee/GMT2?

Thank you in advance for your reply!
