contact form 7 spam prevention

Does anyone have some tips on stopping contact form spam with contact form 7?

I have recaptcha 3 enabled already but its still letting stuff through.

Tried akisimet integration but that does not seem to work.

Also tried Contact Form 7 Honeypot plugin but when I tested it, it does not work either.

Not sure if perhaps these additional measures are not working because I've updated to WP 5.0.1.

So, does anyone else have WP5, contact form 7 and an effective method to prevent contact form spam?

Never had much luck with that sort of thing. If you got access to server side or even cpanel spam filters you can get a list from here

Just scroll down the posts and collect all the recently added ones, that might help with a hard block rather than capture, as most will get your email anyway to bypass the posting form..

It was a week or two ago and I get a ton of PMs so it would be work to find the PM but it was about the PP money generator I think... what ever it was I thought it was funny though.

Contact form 7 - latest version has ReCaptcha 3 built in - just have to configure integration with api key.

But in my experience, Recaptcha isn't necessarily going to stop spam bots since its so easy to bypass. Maybe try to find a smaller captcha service that uses something like a click and drag or solve a puzzle. Most people know about recaptcha..

I think I’m on the latest version, but I’ll double check. Thanks for the tip about ReCaptcha - basically it’s shit then

For contact form 7, the best way to fight spam is using Recaptcha V2.0 instead of V3.

That works for me, I had v3 on one of my sites and it is bad.

Not sure if this will help... But... I setup last night "Contact Form 7 Image Captcha" WP-Plugin... So far i havent recieved a single Spam message.... I was used to getting 20s of them every few hours from some random-ass ips... Hope that helps..
