Hey guys, This black Friday I made $3126 in affiliate commissions (Amazon) from a 10 days old blog (on a dead domain) , with 100% organic traffic.

Of-course Moneyshot comes 1st..

Here is the step by step process i followed.

Step 1 : Exported Long tail keywords of a large affiliate site which covers 'top 10 x 2018' from ahrefs with these filters.
  1. Search volume - Between 100 to1000 a month (Just a number i picked, Anything above 1000 would have less chance of ranking & anything less than 100 won't be worth putting efforts into)
  2. Keyword difficulty (Min 0 - Max 10)
  3. Country : US
  4. Keyword filter : "Best" (this filter finetunes the keywords even further.
  5. These gave me over 16,000 product based keywords.
Here is the screenshot from Ahrefs showing this.

Step 2 : I shortlisted top 2000 from the list and went on to create content for them. here is the content. Here is what i did for the content.

  1. Wrote a 400 word article, keeping it very generic so it could fit pretty much any product and still makes sense.
  2. This 400 words were in a such a way that i can dynamically replace the product name, their manufacture name, number of reviews and the current rating.
  3. After this initial introduction, inserted 7 products from Amazon (Used the Amazon API) including their title, description, feature list, and the current number of reviews with 3 links to each product.

  4. The products were filtered based on their price, number of reviews and the current rating. Making sure i only recommend top products.
  5. Amazon officially allow you to use product advertising API to promote their products, nothing shady here.
  6. At the end of the listing a short 100 word paragraph just like the 1st concluding the top product.

  7. The title of the article said 'Best blackfriday deals on "Product-name"

Step 3 : Went on to regular life, didn't expecting much. No link building of any sort is done..

A day prior to BF, I checked the analytics and it had over 1500 visitors from USA :O
On BlackFriday it had lot more visitors.

Here is the Traffic screenshot. You can see traffic started that week and died off after the Season was over.

I was excited with the traffic and revenues and Updated all the posts on Sunday with a fresh title - "Best CyberMonday deals on ProductName"

Results :

XaV2MOA
  • It had 10,065 sessions out of which 7067 were organic. (Analytics attached).
  • About 1700 products were ordered from amazon with close to 70K in ordered items revenues. (Screenshot from Amazon affiliate attached)
  • As of now, Amazon affiliate commission is $3,472.
  • You can see the traffic & earnings were close to 0 , it peaked on Friday and then died off slowly...
I will spare the motivational lecture for another time :) For now let the money do the talking... Hope it is useful.

How many of you think it was possible ? Even I am surprised for sure.

..
Thanks

Congrats mate! But the site can't be just a few days old, I mean it does take time to index etc? However... This Black Friday hype is so crazy in the US.

The site had all the 2000 posts indexed? In 10 days it's pretty hard to index 2000 pages without any links. so the question is - is most of the traffic coming from a few pages or very evenly distributed?

If the traffic came just from 2-3 pages might be possible. Maybe some sites aggregated those pages and made them to get indexed.

Curious about more data :)

New domain freshly registered or registered non used but you decided to use it during the season time? Congratulations mate such a nice results

I've never seen a 10 days old website indexed in google and generate organic traffic.
Anyway.... congrats.

Awesome results. I remember reading a post where @mickyfu mentioned a similar method. It was related to parasites though. Anyways that was a good hustle!

Congratulations! I am happy for you! Hopefully, I will get to do something for Black Friday and Cyber Monday!

Doing it, like it's supposed to be done.

Fucking A man. Congratulations.

Work on making it sustainable.

I did around $20k on BG/CM deals - my traffic included Organic, PPC, Social and Paid traffic.

Also, be prepared for the "buyers' remorse" to hit anytime now. This is what happens when people get too excited seeing deals and place orders for a fuck ton of items on Black Friday/Cyber Monday - they when they sober up, they decide it wasn't worth it and either cancel or return the item.

Question Time :). I have a few questions for you

1. Did you create 2000 posts on your site, one for each keyword or grouped similar content?
2. Did you manually insert the specifics about every product on the main 400-word article or is there any plugin/software to do so?
3. Did you use different keywords and meta description for every post using any SEO tool?
4. When you say 10 days old blog (on a dead domain), does it mean that the domain was registered and used earlier by someone else?
5. Did the domain had any DA/PA when you bought it?
6. On an average, how many times you repeated the keyword in your 400+100 word article?

Nothing new. If take action it's not a rocket science not at all. Key is long tail kws + variation. Many host affiliates including do this. i would change titels and do few gsa blasts. works charm .

Sensible questions, Here are my answers.

1. Did you create 2000 posts on your site, one for each keyword or grouped similar content?

One for each Keyword..

2. Did you manually insert the specifics about every product on the main 400-word article or is there any plugin/software to do so?

I inserted them dynamically. You can use plugins like content-egg to do it.

3. Did you use different keywords and meta description for every post using any SEO tool?

For Title, Pretty much any plugin would do it automatically. I used All in One SEO Plugin on most of my sites..

Not sure Meta Keywords is still a thing, didn't do that in years. And Meta Description is taken care of by Google these days. Not adding it manually.

4. When you say 10 days old blog (on a dead domain), does it mean that the domain was registered and used earlier by someone else?

it was registered (by me) but not being used or had any traffic. You can see that in traffic screenshot above.

5. Did the domain had any DA/PA when you bought it?

It was a Non drop/expired , hand registered domain. Registered: April 27, 2018

6. On an average, how many times you repeated the keyword in your 400+100 word article?

3 times in the 1st para, 1 in the last and one in the title.

While I love the results, the question still stands: HOW?
How did you rank so fast will all those articles and how did you rank at all if all the articles were basically the same?

I don't have a scientific answer on why or how it got the traffic. I am guessing this -

Content Freshness + Relevancy + Super Long tails + a bit or luck maybe ?

Duplicate content is not that big deal, I can show tons of example where the site is ranking with pretty much same content across pages, with very little variations.

Here is an example - Check the organic keywords of this site . They do the exact same thing, heck they don't even have the 500 words I added in the content and have 15 Fuc**ing million in traffic every month...

In white-hat schema of things, it should NOT work , but it does.. it's flawed but hey it works.

Aren't we all after what works right now rather than what used to work or how long it will work?

Just curious, does anyone know what theme/plugin that Example website it uses ? Or custom made :)

They even show price from amazon on their own site which, IIRC, is against Amazon TOS
