My Review of Twitterdub:
Without trying to repeat myself much
here's a similar review I did for Instadub. I share it because much of what I say overlaps the software. But there will be many nuances to the software I will mention that are distinct from the review.
The Purchase:
After purchasing Twitterdub I received the download instructions via email including the license and the link to download.
The download was light on the system, and the program booted up seamlessly.

The takeaway from this part is that the learning curve to understanding the program is the largest critique I have of the program.
Having had a go-round with Instadub, my experience with this software feels more intuitive. Like I noted with
my review of Instadub this would be my main criticism if I had zero experience with the program. However, maybe with my experienced bias now, Twitterdub seems pretty straightforward. If the icons for each module make it easier for me to figure out what's what. I also had the fortune to see each module label at the top of the software. I think that saves many headaches when first looking at the software. I do think it'd help to watch a few tutorials to see the basic functions so you aren't lost, because it's definitely different from other software, but it will make sense.
But if its your first time looking at this software, prepare to be frustrated (my bias: at times I'm a slow learner & prefer things intuitive. Once I get it I run.). Once you get over that, you'll sail more smoothly.
Functionality:
Once I began testing with a few accounts, the software made more sense. When it starts making sense, you realize how powerful this program is.
Now having experience with the full workflow of the software, I'd comment that I wish it were simpler. The functionality gives you so much control (almost) to a fault because its different. I had to adjust my settings (configuring the limits, delays, & repeats namely) around several times just to get things working the way I wanted to, which I'd say can be a headache at first.
Again, there is a learning curve since the interface is initially confusing: the main criticism I have of this program.
The features are amazing. Recently Martin released a new function upon request within a day or two (probably the former because I didn't check until the day after) that involved the Retweet function. If something isn't working, Martin will help out how he can to make that functionality smooth for you.
Like Instadub, Twitterdub has powerful search features I don't think are on other software. However, if you go overboard you also risk slowing the program. This makes sense as more search filters requires more processing power. Keep that in mind if you wish to get trigger happy with the searching features. There's a lot you can do with it.
I am a fan of some features like the "share across accounts" function on the Follow task since it enables to reduce the amount of headaches associated with spam actions.
My main attraction with the software was for scraping tweets & posting tweets. On my first days running the function, the software against my knowledge posted my full list of 500 tweets at once, no delay. I thought my account was a goner after that. Fortunately, I was able to delete all the tweets and start fresh in a different way utilizing the repeat function & less tweets.
^ This is an example of what I mean with the learning curve. I'm fortunate I was only dealing with 500 tweets at that time. Now it's corrected because I changed my workflow.
What I would like to change with the program:
Well its unreasonable to ask Martin to simplify the software since 1) now I get it & 2) its a legacy software that has stood the test of time, so it makes little sense to completely overhaul what's already working.
With that said, the scrape feature needs a bit improving. I hadn't gone to Martin about this since I figured it was a small error that is easily correctable. I ran a scrape tweets run that seemed to produce many results, then deleted itself upon completion. Out of three (successful) runs with this function, two were botches surfaced from what I believe were software errors. Again, fixable stuff, but wanted to include it to give detail of my experience thus far with the program.
The saving grace there is the support is top notch. Martin checks the forum & improves the software as advertised to the suggestions of his users- fixing errors included.
Context:
My review of this program comes from the viewpoint of having extensive experience with Followliker & some experience with the formerly existent Massplanner (consider Jarvee as the equivalent here since it basically ripped the program), but for Instagram. Part of my learning curve and criticism comes from the simplicity I came to know through FL, yet lacking in essential features which exist on bots like Jarvee. In this context, Instadub definitely fulfills where FL lacks & serves as a great alternative to Jarvee (by proxy of MP).
With that said, I NEVER used software for Twitter. I never got into twitter to know if there was a market for it. However, over the past year of quietly searching, there was (to my slight surprise) few automation software for twitter out there.
While there's a scarce market for Twitter automation, you are not being sold short because Twitterdub is one of few out there. The software is top quality, realized once you get over the initial learning curve.
Feature Request:
I would ask that
@rootjazz explore creating an independent module for deleting retweets (AKA Un-Retweets) like the Unlike Module. As of recent un-retweeting capabilities were added to the software, so my suggestion is merely an expansion on its function rather than just an addon to the Retweet function.
As far as something NOT in the program already, no suggestions at this particular time.
