I'm having an e-commerce website and thinking to send my customers a thank you email and a small gift and in return, I'm asking for a review on Google Business Page.

Does this will help in google ranking?

Reviews will definitely help out a lot in the long run, I mostly do local SEO. I saw a local website I was promoting shoot up from 2nd page to 3rd result on the first page, just from 2 reviews.

Technically speaking , It doesn't help increase but rather helps your website online reputation that's why you see some websites with no GMB and still ranks on first page for certain country KWs.

You should work more in your site to depending on GMB for improvement.
