I've recently been experimenting with ranking stories on hashtags.
The account I was testing this on is only 6k followers if it makes a difference

This is what I've found out:

-You must only use one hashtag per story otherwise your story won't rank on any

-Order of stories in the hashtag is chronological

-Hashtag must be visible otherwise it won't rank (later disputed)

What have you guys found?

I concur--while it is possible (have seen on larger accounts)--it is harder.

I've been experimenting with this too. So far, it's been strange. I'm not entirely sure what's being chosen to be viewed thru the post feeds. I do text heavy stories, & sometimes the first 1/2 of the whole (2 stories in this afternoon's example) didn't rank to be viewed for its tag, but the post immediately following it did for the same tag? Using single hashtags. Can verify hiding doesn't prevent ranking. Been experimenting with a variety of tags, & it seems only the busier ones are really worth it? Getting people to DM in response boosts it heavily too.

You can hide hashtag under a sticker or make it so small that you will not be able to tap it.

It also depends upon the kind of instagram profile it is.

If your profile is of any ecommerce site and you are posting your product pictures and some promotional images and videos then this will not at all matters a lot because instagram do not promote this kind of profiles at all or maybe I thing they just shadowban them.

That's what I've been facing please let me know if I'm wrong.

Agreed with you, hashtags are must important for Instagram not only for Stor also for the Instagram post.

The thing which is totally different Instagram or social media networks is Hashtags.

The thing which is totally different Instagram or social media networks is Hashtags.

Honestly Instagram is pretty similar to many other social networks, even sites like twitter/facebook have hashtags, but the integration is what really gives a leg up. The best thing to do is analyze differences in social networks to see the best strategies per network so you don't waste time using methods which would be much easier/effective on another network

What about Hashtags + Locations tags? Anybody recommendations?
