Is stealing competitors site content is good idea?

Our team has done a Case study based on this case

We had a website which we de-indexed from Google. (this website was 3 months old and ranked for many keywords)
We used it's Content and went live with another website.
The website got indexed and got ranked for many keywords in Just 1 month.
After 1 month we re indexed the OLD WEBSITE.
The new website on which we had used the duplicate content got penalized and lost it's rank and finally de-indexed.

Now, you can make out what would potentially happen. I think, as long as your competitor doesn't try to re index the website you are good to go.

I don't think that stealing your competitors content is a good idea since Google has already indexed that content and noted your competitor and the original owner. Stealing it and putting it on your website will definitely affect your ranking. The best thing you can do is to get someone to rewrite it or write something of the same quality for you.

Good luck. Will be looking forward to seeing your result.

I steal content on a daily basis. I have never gotten in trouble and all my sites rank. I just make sure it shows as mostly unique. People on here will scream copyright this bad idea that... don't listen to all that crap. If anything happens and the creator of the content wants it down, they have to first send you a letter asking you to remove it.
Someone tried suing me for an image that a user uploaded to my site. The image was not for sale and was just posted on a guide style website. The owner was not making any direct money from that image yet they tried to sue me.

I knew I was covered as it was user uploaded material so all I had to do to comply was to remove the offending material but this was not satisfactory for them and they wanted to go to court. I contacted 2 separate lawyers and they both advised I just pay up what they were asking which was about £3k (a lot of money to me at the time) as if it went to court I would likely have to pay that and then some for time and costs. I ended up settling for significantly less than what they originally were asking for but I can tell you it was a fucking horrible experience not knowing what the outcome of all of this was going to be.

Don't tell people they will not get sued because it can and does happen. Just because it has not happened to you yet does not mean that it cannot happen, that is some terrible advice.

I guess you just can't help some people.

You could have spent less time rewriting the content than you did farting around in this thread and had good original content forever, instead you run the risk of getting a DMCA notice on your domain / hosting, losing ranks and/or getting sued for your troubles.

I hope it all ends well for you but it would be so much easier in the long run to just rewrite the content, then it is your work and nobody can do dick about it.

but why? It is not in google and all duplicate content checkers are showing it is unique :3

Any other opinions ?

So when they put their site and original content back up, what then?

I did this where I found an expired domain, there were 20 articles on there so I decided to take them for myself.
Ran them through Copyscape before loading them only to find someone else had taken the articles.

What I did was buy the original domain, repopulate it with the 20 articles and my site is ranking and their site dropped like a rock.
