I have another feather in my oh so glam hat haha. I am over the moon today because all I really do honestly is think of filling voids in the local market.
I made a journey thread a couple of days ago whereby my website business took off very well. Sheer persistence and back breaking work. It's hard to swallow patronising attitudes especially when people say things like," $200 is a drop in the ocean but for you it's alot. I understand, ok we have a deal". I detest such entitled and arrogant people but you've got to be humble at times reminding yourself that you're being laid for a service no one but you can do. Hence you're being paid. I mean $200 is a drop in the bucket with your restaurant but when I grow my business out of this city and then on to another country then you'll be a mere blip on my radar bitch! Lol.
What have I done now?
So I went ahead and contacted the delivery app company directly. Not giving out the name because they're going to be my client within this week. My proposal is quite undeniable
This app, is the same app I used to look for restaurants that didn't have websites and then I went on to contact them individually so on so forth. You can read about it here
https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/take-action-right-now.1071224/
Out of 250 restaurants only 30 responded and I had only 5 sales.
It got me thinking. I'm not the one to give up without logic. I wondered about the reasons I wasn't responded to and was turned down. My mind would not let me rest because out of 250 restaurants (total in the app) just 5 sales!! Ridiculous!
Who will they trust?
A reputed company. I'm a nobody.
Will they pay the reputed company their demanded fee?
No because people are slow when it comes to technology and online mechanisms. I say this because usually owners and directors of companies are old fogies that have preconceived notions about online stuff anyway. So they won't pay the required fees if they don't know you or know of you.
That's it! I had to known of to be known.
How do I connect the dots?
I had an epiphany. I want them and they want me and I'm going to manifest this because there's one go between us. The delivery app company.
What did I do?
Immediately got behind the computer, found their email and contacted them with a corporate meeting proposal. They responded to me this morning asking me to come and see them on Thursday 29th November. I am heavily excited.
What's my game plan?
I want them to get me each and every restaurant (that rejected me) and I'll use the delivery app company as a referral and pay them a percentage. I know very well that they'll get greedy because I'm talking monthly management fees here. The numbers is what I need to think about.
Going rate for such services is atleast $2000 a month per service (social media management service, online reputation management service, SEO service, advertising could be an option too. ) not to mention the initial website set up service fee that I shall now charge up the ass for because I'll be joining hands with the delivery company themself. This company is quite big and have their own cars, drivers and they function in all the major cities of the country. It's just insane. Again,I have to think of numbers and in retrospect, perhaps I should be reasonable with the fees because I want to give myself value yet be a realist.
I just wanted to share my progress with you all and wanted to remind you that time and tide waits for none. And a huge thank you to BHW! And all its fantastic members and moderators.
The picture attached to this post is always something I think of when I'm about to give up. Hope it inspires you too.
Have a great day everyone
