I think best thing is when checking a site not to pay attention to the label whether it is "pbn" or "public blog" and just take it as a website and thats it.

but then you also hear very common phrase now a day which is : "people selling pbn as guest post"

this "guest post" will have absolutely "0" traffic.

and contrary to that you see PBN with some traffic are being seen as a "good thing"

but I think your general statement about both is quiet correct

I believe, PBN still works to rank any website if the relevancy and the metrics are reliable. I check the DA, Spam Score, TF and CF to get any backlink from any blog as a guest. If you put a backlink checking all these metrics, your backlink will give you result for long time.

I'm interested in this discussion too and would also like to have some estimation of how powerful they are for their price. Are all websites supposed to have at least a couple of powerfull guest posts in order to have a good link profile?

A "PBN" has no traffic and every post links out to some shite site. A "Guest Post" that has no traffic and every post links out to some shite shite is a "PBN" You basically answered your own question. To buy a guest post, find websites with traffic that are not link farms. Basically cheap "Guest Posts" are expensive PBNs.

I generally look for sites with 20k traffic, to buy either banner space, sitewide links or a guest post. I would normally pay $100 to 250 for a guest post. $500+ for a 6 month to 1y banner

Doesn't make any difference, as Mickyfu said. I had a decent number of PBNs converted to money sites, and they do just fine.

Let's be honest; there is very little difference between the guest blog post that is spammed with a lot of clientele or a solidly built private blog network. The main difference is an increase in price from the agency in question. It's even possible to gain actual website visitors to a private blog.

Lol )) I think you just coined a real acronym. There is a big problem with naming this kind of guest posts and it's obstructing communication here on BHW. Many times you see people speaking about completely different stuff in the same topic because "guest post" means different things for different people. I never knew how to call these either. From now on I am calling them GBN. From now on, let's all adopt this GBN acronym.

No, shouldn't be a GBN, should have low OBL, managed by an individual, open 3-5 posts from the homepage if these all are paid posts means it's a GBN even if it's have traffic.

2) And how does that cost compare to PBN? Is a 5$ PBN post as powerful as a 25$ GBN post? Or maybe the 25$ GBN only has 10$ of actual power? Can someone give some average estimates about the power and cost-efficiency of PBN vs GBN?

Traffic has absolutely no affect in my opinion. I like guest posts because their more evergreen and you can typically find a domain that is far more contextual.
