Hey guys, I am looking for a new laptop and wondering which one I should get.

I have couple of software running 24/7 with multiple thread; scrapebox, zennoposter, jarvee etc...

I do website development and use photoshop for my graphic design needs.

Budget: 1500-2000$

Was looking at gaming laptop but im not sure if they are designed for running 24/7.

Let me know your recommendations.

go with i7 ,7th generation with 16 gb or 32 Gb ram with ssd ,brand is HP

Dell XPS is my long time favourite... Great specs for gaming + for work

Would recommend getting a VPS for your 24/7 activities, otherwise you will speed up the decay of any laptop you buy

Yes I was really thinking about a vps also. Your right!

I have a 6th gen Thinkpad X1 Carbon and it's fantastic. You shouldn't run anything 24/7 on a laptop though..

You will probably save money even paying for a server by saving your laptops lifespan.

Dell XPS is beautiful also. Really small bezel on the edges makes the screen gorgeous

I second the VPS option for the software.

For the laptop... second hand MBP 2015 era would be my vote after taking the VPS money out of the budget

Also looking for a laptop I found that:
i7 8th Gen(8th Gen is 30-35% faster than 7th) 16RAM + SSD would be perfect:)
especially when Black Friday and Cyber Monday are coming;)

This is exactly what im waiting for!

I've had HP's all my life and they've been great.

For your budget you could get a very nice i7, 16GB memory and a big SSD drive. Take a look at the probook range, you won't be disapointed!

I'm picking up the HP OMEN on Black Friday or Cyber Monday I haven't decided yet.

I am also in same situation, mind naming few laptop that you are watching for.

8th gen i3 is super value. 6 cores, cheap. Cant go wrong.

U can probably use ur old computer as scrapebox etc vps.

Are you looking only for a laptop? I ask because being you I'd build a PC assuming if you have it running 24/7 it is used mainly at home anyway. But that really depends of your lifestyle.
You can build a really decent PC for that budget which shall be on par with some servers and have likely more computing power than a usual VPS especially with newer AMD CPUs having upto 8 cores for the Ryzen line and a lot more for Threadrippers which in fact you can also afford.
I don't really think having a notebook on 24/7 is a good idea, it may work but a PC would be more efficient and have better specs.

4k UHD Touchscreen display, Backlit Keyboard & at least 16GB RAM should narrow your search significantly. i prefer AMD processors at this point in time.

Don't know if someone mention that already but check this one:
ASUS ROG Zephyrus

Whatever you do don't by HP. I'd say go for an acer predator
