301 redirect - Clean up old page first or not?

I recently changed name of my business. I have several new partners with high pr domains who will link to my new page when I send them our story. My old page have lots of links, but also broken links.

So first question: Shall I ask partners to write articles now and link to my old page. Then my old page get stronger before redirect. They will also write articles again and link to my new page. will this have any better effect than having the partners writing two articles with links to my new domain only?

Second question: shall I fix broken links before 301 redirect?

Third question: When redirecting, should I just redirect 301 or should I deep redirect? So that the articles about different subjects which they are ranking for is redirected to new pages where I want to rank for the same subjects? Or should I just do one redirect? Or both?

1st: If the old domain not going to be live and will only redirect it makes sense to start creating content for the new domain and just redirect the old one.

Yes it will redirect to a relevant page, but it also contains many other relevant pages within the domain, articles that rank #1 for other keywords which is other places at new domain. So how should I redirect the entire domain with a 301 or entire domain with 301 and then also all this #1 ranking articles to their new sites which I want to rank for the same keyword or does this not work?

let me expalin a bit further.
lets say my old domain was about shoes. And my new domain is about clothing. But in my new domain I also have a page about shoes. it would be my domain/shoes.
Then I will redirect my old domain to this /shoes since its only about shoes. but on my old domain I also have some articles about jackets that rank #1. If I redirect the entire url to shoes, It will not keep my first place at all this Jacket keywords. I want to redirect all these articles about jacket to domain/jackets and not to shoes.

So thats my question. Also, to comment on the first question. it would be better to redirect a PR5 page to new domain, than a PR3 page, right? So does anyone have any answers on this this?

So I can not redirect some articles to one place and then redirect others to some other place? I can only redirect the entire domain to keep juice on main keywords for homepage of domain?

I have so many articles I'm afraid I'm missing less relevant pages which is making the site as big as it is. If I only redirect homepage and then some other pages a lot of pages is not redirected.

that's why you need to go through each page and redirect it individually. you can use a tool like screaming frog to get a list of pages and put them into a spreadsheet.
