New Affiliate Site + SEO Journey

Hey, guys so I started a new site, I'm talking brand new.

I started This site a little over a week ago and it got indexed by google about 4 days ago. This isn't my first affiliate site so I was able to build the site pretty quickly. Just got my first site to $1,000/month

My goal is to get the site to $1,000 per month by my college graduation (April 2019) and I will update you guys every other week.

The first thing I did was pay someone on fiverr to write 4 articles for me. 3 out of the 4 have affiliate links in them. I will keep adding 2 articles a week.

Here is my google Ranking now, pretty bad but hey the site has been indexed less than a week

I'm going to keep ranking it. My long-term plan is once I get this one to $1,000/month. I'm going to get an SEO company to rank both my sites.

Nothing Crazy, $7/article. Articles were around 500-700 words. I did have to edit.

You think so man? My other site took about a year and a half but that was because I had no idea what I was doing with SEO. Think a year is more doable?

No, I think you know what you're doing. It really depends on the niche and how much commission you're getting and how big your bidget is for content/links etc. If that's your goal, go for it.

No, I think you know what you're doing. It really depends on the niche and how much commission you're getting and how big your bidget is for content/links etc. If that's your goal, go for it.

I'm building links myself from web 2.0 sites. Don't really want to pay for links yet. Planning on doing some guest posting in the coming weeks. Going spend $15/week for 2 articles.Might write some articles myself if I know enough about the topic.

They are amateurs but they do research and I always double check and improve the content before I post it. The guy I use is from Sri Lanka. I used to use a guy from india but he stopped.

And what kind of improvements was that? I am asking myself for I work in this area and it'd be nice if you shared your experience. What were the most common mistakes?

Most of the time just grammar and spelling errors. Many times I can tell that the writer did not read his own work after he wrote it. Also sometimes I feel like they use my keyword too much. Like 3%-5% density, so I change it up a bit. I also need to add a paragraph encouraging the parents to buy an affiliate product so I need to add that at the end also. Nothing in particular really, just making it "good enough for my site"

Thanks for your answer. I often face with the problem that the text is like written randomly with not a slightest sign of understanding why and how it must be done. As one famous king used to say: "Wanna do something right - do it yourself"

I wish I could write it myself it's just I found a great niche but I don't know much about it. So for me to write an article It would take me hours of research. My first site, I write all the articles because I know what I was talking about this new one I have to get somebody.


I certainly recommend writing the articles yourself. Saves you money and chances are you are going to do a better job but that's not always an option.

As far as finding someone solid to write the articles I would recommend (if you have the budget). Order the same article from 5-6 different people and see which one comes out the best, then stick with that person. Doing an affiliate site can be really hard if you have a really low budget.

I told myself I'm only spending $50/week on this site. That includes articles and link building, bots everything.

I have a good author in my team, though English is not his native language but he has a gift to write stuff really tempting way, so that it catches other people's eye. Yeah all I can tell you is try different writers out. I'll keep you updated.

Thanks for the luck guys, gonna keep working for it. I'm 20 now and I'm trying to retire by 35 so I gotta work my ass off for the next 15 years.
