Hi Jacob, thank you for your time and input!!! I'm new here but been reading so much and trying to figure a Path/actions/direction to build my person (business account though) for my model photography business on IG. I started the account I believe Feb 2016 but didn't post. Then this year started to post my pics slowly But I didn't know a darn thing about IG in that I would post and forget which is a no-no.
Folks that now me and see my pics via in person or my website say they love the work.
I've posted (all original my stuff) 97 posts. I only have about 140 followers as I haven't started to follow a bunch of others and like/comment.
*My intention is to of course grow followers so I can get more quality models (been getting them from them DM'ing me) and be able to charge the usual $300 which is a deal in Colorado for what I do and give.
*I was thinking 'maybe' to start over by deleting my posts (my original photos)/going out and searching the photographers I like and likeing/commenting/I guess start following their followers.
*Build some followers / Then start reposing my work / pay for power likes or something (suggestions).
I see folks having a lot of child accounts that they use to like/follow/promote their main account but just learned about that yesterday.
PS, I would paypal you some $ for your time and direction as I truly love photography and really want to do this right and grow on IG but I am just now learning from this Awesome forum and folks input on here!
So what i would suggest you to do is start a completely new account.
As to instagram your account looks dead and will be hard to revive.
Because it was made in 2016. You know you want to be a photographer i'm assuming you are in the girl model niche so you take pictures of hot girls?
Once you've decided your niche go to top photographers have a look at their photos and steal their style for that image as Steve Jobs would say good artist copy, great artist steal.
Then i'd message as many models as you can and tell them you'll shoot them for free then show them your work use testimonials if you can as there are a lot of creeps in that field. I follow a lot of models and a lot posts how there are dodgy people so show them you aren't dodgy.
if you're as good as you say you're they'll think you are crazy doing the shoot for free and will absolutely jump on the offer.
Network with people in your niche give value and message a shit load of accounts and ask them if they want to join your DM group when you do this you'll build a network of huge accounts which will boosts your posts to their followers explore pages when they like your post.
Then post the photos to your account 1 photo a day for a personal account with hashtags that are related to your niche.
Keep repeating what i said above and before you know it you'll be a celebrity in your niche.
If you've got money to spend i'd suggest paying for power likes go to huge accounts in your niche and pay them to like your posts the tiny automated power like services usually have trash accounts that do nothing but inflate your ego with likes.
P.S Never follow and unfollow as it KILLS your account. Big influencers like myself don't ever follow and unfollow we use what i call the "viral method" this is the method that allowed me to grow 25k followers in a month on a themed account and help a client who i consulted with gain 400k followers in a few months...
