Hi,
I just found one of my competitors site that is ranking insanely. No drop at all even after this 'medic' update the ranking is always up month by month.
I take a look in majestic for his website and found the anchor text to be a completely different site, so I typed in the url in my browser and it was redirected to that competitor.
So now I know he is ranking because of sheer power of this 301. So I was thinking about doing the same. Buying expired domains and 301 to my site.

Question is how many links/domains can you 301?
I mean the whole purpose of 301 is to redirect to your "new" site, right?
It was invented because you move to another site and want to point all the links to this new site. so I guess having more than one 301 will look unnatural?

I do 301 on thousand domains, the reason is not SEO, I do redirect just because a traffic only.

When you are using 301s. make sure you do it right way and knows how it works as sometime it fire back

301's work great if done correctly.

It's true that it works when done right, but the last time I did a direct 301 from 25 domains, I ended up with a penalty. I believe there are some effective ways to do it, search over the forum and you should be able to find it.

Could you please advise where to find the thread since many threads from the search results are out to date, I can't find anything new there. Thanks in advance.

1) Is 301 donor was relevant or irrelevant?
2) Did you found another 301s redirecting to that site?

Niche relevant 301 is best. You do not have to find a perfect niche, just tech, health, etc. (Tech not specifically iPhones for example - though sometimes you can luck out with an off beat niche such as Pets or Marijuana, etc.)

Make sure your content is good and related to that niche, and you will get over 80% (according to Moz.com) of the juice.

Not too shabby.

If you want to add Multi redirects ... 30 redirects for example?

Just FYI, redirect five directly and the others to those five. Google will not be bothered to figure that out.

Plus, your five will become link monsters. The Kraken of SEO.

It's somewhat relevant. The money site is men's health niche but the 301 is gay site.... yes you read that right.
Surprisingly that is solid gay site with no spam links at all. Quite a monster with TF26 CF30 with 24k external backlinks
It's the only site he uses 301 though. I can't find any other 301 from Ahrefs.

This is a good strategy. BTW you got a BST with MR.F ? could you show that thread. The search function in bhw is really not good.
