Yea weird thread i know. Basically I post short stories that might or might not be real (sometimes its obvious but often times not). Some of them are pretty damn sad and now Instagram removed one of those and showed me the below screen. Now I know that youll be shadowbanned (cant use hashtags) if a post is removed for community guideline violations, but Im not sure if this also causes a shadowban and I cant check because I was already shadowbanned for 9 more days lol. Does anyone know if it also causes a shadowban? And how can I avoid this? Maybe by adding a sentence to the caption explaining that Im not the writer of those stories?

As someone who has lost friends for not speaking up or thinking they are alone, at least someone or insta is trying to reach out. Hope your well!

I don't know what you're going through rn but I think you need to talk to someone.
Never knew IG was that savage. Lmao

its was more than likely manually reported by someone. you cant blame them for trying to do "the right thing",
its somewhere their responsibility, and they know most people sharing their most personal details and stories in life might have mental issues.

Read the community guideline first fully about to post stories and read also Terms of services and frequently asked question. Follow Instagram blog also. It will be better for you if you contract with Instagram community section.

you should follow ''posting guidelances'' in order to avoid any ban from IG

Thanks for all kind posts, I can assure you that Im doing very well and am far from depressed :)

And yea it was probably a user report, I agree.

Also Ive read the community guidelines before, but theyre really general and lack details in my opinion. Its not like my stories say: 'Im so depressed, nobody is there for me, I think I will hurt myself tonight'. Of course that is exaggerated but as I said, the guidelines don't draw a clear line between what is ok and what will be removed.

Some very shortly summarized example stories (warning, sad) of which I dont know if they'd be okay or not:
-A guy who has an art teacher he eventually befriends because hes interested in the topic, but the class bullies the teacher. Later on the teachers husband gets cancer, the bullies joke about it, even after the husbands death. Teacher storms out and doesnt come back, the protagonist later finds out she killed herself but left him all of her art books he used to borrow.
-A guys family thinks he is a player and gets a ton of girls, but in reality he just goes out and does a lot of drugs. He concludes with the sentence 'I guess it's good i wont be seen as the loser I am when I finally die in some *accident*'

Theres more of these stories and the thing is, you never know if theyre real, although those sad ones are usually so detailed that they probably are real.

I'm not sure exactly what you posted, but they must've reported it for "self-injury".

It also said "someone thinks you might need some extra support...", which makes it sound like it was reported.

Either way, I suppose at least someone out there cared enough to report it, even if they didn't understand that you weren't the author of the stories.

Yea pretty sure it was a report, I also asked my followers and they said the same thing as many had it happen to them before (only difference is that some of those are actually depressed, but I DM them whenever I see a sad comment). Sadly none of them really knows which post caused it for them, so Im still unsure on what I cant post.

Good feature Instagram have implemented to create that personal touch i think

Your followers love you OP xD
Yea, even though I suspect it was a non-follower because I think most of my followers know that the stories didnt happen to me.
But considering the niche Im in is pretty toxic, Im pretty lucky with the followers I have. Dont have to block many people, but I think it all comes down to how you set the tone with your audience. I know a youtuber who is literally the nicest guy Ive ever met. He'd even support people financially after theyd been scammed just so they wouldnt be sad (teenage audience) without anyone else knowing, so he didnt do it for exposure or anything. And well that way he has built up the nicest community (in total around 1m followers i think) on social media ive ever seen.

I don't get their move. If someone is depressed and need to get it out somehow, why wouldn't they let him do it? It depresses even more though. If someone is really not ok and he needs to write his thoughts, shutting his mouth is not the best idea...(that's in general, not about you if you claim you are fine).

They did that with me also. Someone reported your story and don't blame them they are trying to help! And no they can't shadowban you for this.

Yea Im not blaming them, it probably was a non follower who thought it was my own story and felt bad.
Thats great news though, in that case my (previous) shadowban should be expired in 6 days :)
If I remember to do so Ill confirm it in here then.
Thanks for helping me out with shadowbans once again haha, youre really an expert on that subject!
