The truth behind affiliate networks

Thank you very much for bringing this up! I've had my suspicions with networks like Adverten and iMonetizeit and a few others. I've noticed stats starting off amazing, and then dropping off the edge of the earth. Terrible for businesses who want to stay alive for a long time. What a shame!

You can turn around this by giving some bonus to all people that buy from you. Make a blueprint on how it will work, and then track it.

One thing you must pay attention is what are the rules. Some products are first click commissions, others are last click, and so on...
 
Is this true only with CPA networks or for any affiliate networks? Does clickank do this kind of thing?

You're welcome. I made this post while testing some new networks and, while the shit happened I knew what was going on so I decided to share this. And yes this is really irritating seing such drops in stats.

Don't know if this will last for a long time, but it have been there for many years now and profits are just insane, so I doubt it'll stop (just a rebrand might be enough for most networks ...).

If they are caught they'll thank you, telling you there was a bug and would mail all affiliates telling them there was an issue with a script that is now fixed (and everyone will get his conversion so everyone will be happy). And as this is random you might not find it (As I said, the best options is being an advertiser and a publisher on the same network, and use the network to promote your own offers ... - I've seen this happening once and they went into troubles, but $$$ can fix everything -)

All networks I heard from were CPA networks (but I had no connections with other types of networks)

Sure they can deny, but their behavior eventually becomes kinda obvious.

It's also important to know people inside the network. Make friends and network. If you have a friend in the network they will likely warn you of any fishy policies.

Remember: shaving requires several people to be complicit with it inside the network. Their script gotta have been coded by people and these people need to be complicit in the scheme.

MB block Maxmind/Luminati IPs because people have been scamming their network.

MB pays out weekly, whereas their advertisers are often on monthly terms. So what happens is people fake leads, get paid out then the advertiser refuses to pay after inspecting the leads. This ends up screwing MB as they are left out of pocket.

This is the main reason they no longer accept affiliates from large parts of Africa and Asia.

There is no Maxmind IP , It has nothing to do with blocking IP`s.
The script is only using Maxmind GEO DB to pull visitor GEO from their IP than my script redirects visitors based on their country to specific offer.

I had a brain freeze and was thinking GeoSurf rather than MaxMind.

Talk to your AM because I know for a fact that MB are scrubbing traffic before it goes to advertisers. This is done for a legitimate reason since so many people from third world countries have been filling in their own leads.
 
I do not know if it will be useful, but perhaps we can state the companies that are suspected of having this type of behavior so that this thread is not only a declaration in the wind but rather a warning against all these practices. It is only by denouncing this type of action in a name that things can change. I might be wrong, just discuss this.
 
Thanks for coming with this up! That's really frustrating. I'm working with multiple affiliate programs and when I send visitors to one program, the other one shows me more revenues, so I change the links to the one that gives me better sales, but then the first one shows better revenues, and so on...assholes.
 
I'm pretty sure they shave leads like crazy. Dont trust me? Ask your friends to sign up and see how many leads show up. (it against their TOS I know But just to see how much they shave you).
 
Been in the affiliate game for a few years and sometimes it can feel that the networks aren´t always totally honest. The main problem is that we can´t really track convertions - we have to take their word for things....
 
I'm experiencing this right now. I have always been with Peerfly & thier offers convert like crazy if you send the right traffic to them.

Since I like to spread my eggs I figured I would apply to other networks & Maxbounty was highly recommended so I applied there & got accepted quickly!

To make a long story short I sent the same traffic to a couple of the same offers that I was running off Peerfly, a survey & email submit offer. As with Peerfly I received a high volume of clicks but the difference between the two network was NO CONVERSIONS!

Im talking 100 plus clicks from traffic that I KNOW converts & not 1 conversion!

It trips me out how some people can make good money with Maxbounty & then you have others like me (seasoned marketer) that can't seem to crack their wall.

Maybe Maxbounty shaves leads on new publishers but if that is the case they should let us know that before hand so we don't spend our hard earned money promoting shit that will never convert anyway.

Right now I'm giving them one more shot by running a Sweepstakes offer...looks like the same shit will happen with this campaign. Currently have 50 clicks....1 conversion on a first page submit....I'm running the same offer concurrently on Peerfly....10 clicks......6 conversions!!!!

Both running on the same traffic source..smh

I made a thread about thus exact same thing. How they shave your ass without you knowing.

I was into autoninsurance and for every 10 leads i sent them i only got credited fir 4-6 leads.
