The truth behind affiliate networks

The call networks do the same thing, so ALWAYS use a third party call tracking platform, get recording, and listen to what the IVR's say, how the end buyer answers, and call yourself to see how much you can get blasted with remarketing calls.

And same experience with Maxbounty ... I thought I had lost my touch :-) Though sure some are doing well there.

One possible way to work around this is to start with the affiliate site then once you have a large number of sales you contact the manufacturer of the product that you are selling and try to strike a direct deal with them. You can then use something like Voluum to track affiliate clicks on your site. This way you cut out the middle man, increase sales, and there is no skimming.

Damn..I didn't think the Pay Per Call pool was tainted too!!!!

Thank man for this insights. Also seen different Clicks by network

Yeah shaving is a real problem and what makes it really tricky is that from our side it's nearly impossible to detect if and how much it's being done.

This is true, i have been having same types of shaving problems..asking AM if anything is wrong and they always blame your traffic..

They are a bunch of thieves , I would publicly call out one am working with soon if they don't change their ways

"- Have you ever been signing up into an affiliate network and have obtained conversion really fast after sending traffic ?
- Since that "First conversion" have you already seen the conversion rate dropping while sending more traffic ?
- With the time and seeing the low ctr, have you ever tried to lower traffic on this network to send traffic to another one, BUT conversions rate suddenly jumped up ?" I've experienced all this, but truth is that it's somewhat true with direct advertisers as well, I think key reason is traffic sources which place you on shitty positions later. What do you say ?

That is what pisses me off. I hit up my Maxbounty AM and told him straight out :

"I ran this offer on your network and got X amount of clicks and absolutely NO CONVERSIONS, I then ran the SAME offer on Peefly with the EXACT same creatives & Traffic and got a ton of conversions"

You know what his reply was?

Looks like your creatives are not converting well, try another one of our similar offers....!!!!!

So he basically skipped over me saying that I ran the exact same campaign on Peefly and got major conversions....Like...shouldn't that feel fishy to him?

And to all the people with the "it's not the network, it's the advertiser " bullshit!

It's easy for the network to have script that fires the conversion pixel when your traffic converts and then not reflect that conversion in your reports. Come'on it's super easy for them to do that on their end. If you think about it, it's a evil genius way to make a lot of money by just doing it to few thousand publishers, all the while paying out normally to thousands of other publishers to make it seem like it's something that the former publishers are doing wrong. They would clear hundreds of thousands of dollars every month doing that shit!

I truly believe that is what is happening in a lot of these instances and we are the ones looking crazy cause you have the other crowd proclaiming that they get good conversion, which is true but only true to that segment of publishers.

I mean look...my last campaign....453 clicks - NO CONVERSIONS!

You also see this with a lot of adult networks -dating/cams/paysites.
Sometimes having multiple accounts with the larger networks can help.
If you're getting several sales/conversions a day consistently for months or even years on end and then one day
they just stop or ratios go to hell. Try making an another account and the ratios magically come back on that new account.

Lol so they basically pull the Old Casino trick on all of us=). Make us win at the begining, then take all our money, after that give some of that money back so they will come back to the casino again and again=)).

My affiliate network they just assigned me an affiliate manager, what do you think that just mean?

You can turn around this by giving some bonus to all people that buy from you. Make a blueprint on how it will work, and then track it.

How? Someone purchases via my affiliate link, leave their email, I email them a pdf. How is tracking of that pdf supposed to occur?
