Hey,

I need to register a PO box so I have a business location for my website. I don't want someone to search the address of the PO box and know that it is registered to me. I have a business LLC that I could register the PO box under, but my business name can be traced back to my name and I want to avoid that. If I register the PO Box, will the name of the owner or business owner be published all over the Internet?

I can't find these answers anywhere. Thanks for your help!

If you're setting this up for GMB, you'll need to use a mailbox rental company, or sign up for street-addressing, a simple PO Box alone won't be enough.

That said, owners of mailboxes (of any type/supplier) are generally not publicized. The anonymity won't hold up at all in case of a lawsuit or a diligent private investigator, but for everyday use you should be just fine.

Thanks Stavro. This is not for GMB. My lawyer says I need to have an address in my privacy policy and T&C. I also need it to set up marketing automation campaigns. I called USPS and they said it'd be anonymous, but I didn't trust that answer. It's ok if it comes out in a lawsuit. Thanks so much for your help!

I'm not sure about where you are, but I use my accountants address.

At the New York post office they’re just numbers on the box.

If it’s in a smaller town I’d be cautious that your last name will be listed.

When I go to Vegas for ungagged I'm going to set one up there :)

Just set up a New Mexico LLC and use that.

From what I understand, you have to go to the physical location once to set it up. At least for USPS. It's not that urgent, so I'll just do it November. I already have my LLC set up in Florida. Pretty cheap to incorporate here in Florida, and no state income tax.

You can set up the LLC in NM via email and open a PO Box anywhere under that name.

you can use a virtual business adress there foward it all into you.
