I think whatever site i am browsing, My ISP can track. How can I completely hide my Internet browsing or whatever i am doing in internet from my ISP. Probably each ISP has got some proxy server for caching to increase further browsing speed. Your help is highly appreciated.

I would like to know also, anybody with an any idea?

I can't speak for the USA or other countries for sure, since I don't know if the laws there are different, but in Australia it is illegal for ISPs to track anything you do on the internet. It is against the privacy act to monitor your usage without cause.

They actually don't want to know what you are doing, especially if it is not legal. If they don't know, they aren't liable, if they do know, they can be liable.

The only time they can monitor your usage is if they are presented with a warrant or court order from a judge. For the police to get one they need reasonable suspicion in the first place.

Another interesting fact for you guys, out of all the warrants granted, 80% or more are for the investigation of child porn.

Oh, and as for hiding what you are doing from the ISP, you can't. If they get a warrant, and want to check, they can. End of the day, everything you do goes through them.

My point is, they dont look anyway so dont worry about it.

They can, but they dont.

If you use a VPN, VPS etc as homenet said then any data between your PC and the end VPN server would be encrypted otherwise your ISP would be able to see any non encrypted data by using a simple packet sniffer, etc.

Use a VPN, or get a VPS, or a http tunnel. Anything where the web traffic is encrypted.

How can I go with a Virtual Private Network. I Know VPN encrypts data using VPN tunneling. Does VPN completely hide my internet use?

oh this should be in lounge. what is the relevance of this topic in freelancer?

There are many VPN services around, off the top of my head I know piratebay offer one called IPredator. You usually have to pay for them. And yes, anything that passes between you and the VPN is encrypted and all your ISP are going to see is encrypted data, they wont know what your doing, what sites your visiting etc etc.

Sigh.... you guys are just wasting so much effort. They don't check your usage.

The only way you can get into trouble is if you raise a red flag in another way, eg defraud a cop or something.

If they do decide to investigate you, after you raise sufficient suspicion, they can decrpyt your data pretty easily.

This a fair point and personally I wouldnt worry too much about your general browsing, your isp wont look and wont care.

As for them being able to decrypt it easily well this is not true, if your using a strong enough private key then it would take them years and an army of workstations to decrypt it.
