Local link building, data aggregators...

Should I buy any links or link packages? Or should I keep my backlinks natural?

Also, what do the data aggregators like Acxiom, Factual, Localeze and Infogroup do? Do they just control a certain amount of citation sites and they just trickle the info down to them?

Citations are a must. Outsource to Brightlocal or a similar service. You need to be building more citations than your competitors, making sure you have NAP consistency and that you are also building niche/country relevant citations.

Brightlocal has great guides on best citations to build. For example you can Google Brightlocal UK citations and it will list the most relevent citations to build if your business is in the UK. Same search for your niche also.

As for links local links help. So a link from a local business or newspaper etc. Although these are not a requirement. High quality links and/or PBNs (high quality) will work. Below is a list of useful resources for local link building:

I'm probably going to do citations manually for this first month. Just for the learning experience.

I'd use a tool like lass pass to auto fill details in for citation building. Remember to keep NAP consistent it's super important.

As far as data aggs go - you have the good and bad. There are some sites that u can only get with data aggs or sites that are really difficult to be on unless you use a data agg.

What we have found out that works great is to change up the descriptionsons on your citations. You can't beat the cost and management of going with data aggs though.

Yes keep nap same! Vary descriptions.. my million dollar tip is to do all the manual ones u can and then look at the data aggs.

At the end of hte day everyone is doing the same thing right,,, what are you doing that's different!

You are in good shape with bright local. The only down side with data aggs is that once u stop paying they go away or u can't own them and update them, so keep that in mind. Bright local is better than most, check out this site https://www.directorybug.com
