Hey, BHW.

A little bit about me, for all of this to make sense.

I'm 16 years old and I run a SMMA generating a few thousand per month (not giving exact amounts, it's not important to the journey).

Anyways, my parents got divorced when I was in the fourth grade. It wasn't horrible, but I missed not having my father to turn to when you really need a fathers input.

He contacted a few lawyers, and found out it would cost $10,000 to hire the best lawyer in town. If we hire him, it's extremely likely we'd win. But, my dad could never afford something that expensive right away.

Two years later, My mom gets together with my now stepdad.

He's a alcoholic, and a complete deadbeat.

All he does is scream at myself and my siblings. My mom refuses to leave him for god knows whatever reason. He doesn't have a job (my mom supports him AND us) he hasn't paid child support in 3 years, and it seems like all he does to try and solve his problems is drink and drink and drink then scream at us like an absolute madman.

Years go by, and 6 months ago, He drew the last straw. He started becoming more and more alcoholic and psychotic. I knew I had to get the hell out of there. I started my SMMA, so we could pay the lawyer and finally get out of this hellhole.

First, my stepdad thought I was dumb for thinking I could sit at my computer all day and make money.

He laughed at me.

I worked my ass off, I did everything I could. Cold calling, Cold emailing even PPC, and I started making pretty good money.

I laughed at him.

And boy does he hate that I, a 16 year old make more than a 45 year old man and I don't have to leave my room to do it.

Boy does he hate it.

All he does now is make fun of me and my siblings, when I am on phone meetings he'll take my phone out of my hand and call my potential client racial slurs and hang up the phone, he'll do anything in his power to make sure I don't make more money.

Finally, after weeks and weeks of hustling and working my ass off, I saved up the $10,000 we needed to pay the lawyer and get the hell out of here.

I sent the money to my dad a few days ago, and the check cleared into his account yesterday. Immediately afterwards, My dad wired the $10,000 to the lawyer.

And now we begin.

I began recording all of the scenarios in which my stepdad and mom fight / yell at us and I just emailed all of that to the lawyer just before I started writing this post.

Now, we just have to wait for my mom and stepdad to get served the court papers and then the court date to be set.

I'll be sure to update this thread as the situation progresses, but please wish us luck to win and keep us in your prayers.

Thanks!

very sad to see that people still act like this !!!
wish u all the best bro ^^

Damn I really admire your drive -- doing whatever it takes to generate income to save yourself and your siblings.

Most people have no idea the damage and insanity that alcoholism causes, to both the alcoholic and to those around them. It creates so much suffering and destroys lives like almost nothing else.

The sad part is usually the alcoholic won't even remember or realize the majority of suffering they have caused, because of the alcohol stupor and forgetfulness.

So the victims are left to bear the memories of the abuse, getting fucked up emotional and psychological trauma, while the abuser almost gets to walk off with a 'clear conscience' and no memory or awareness of most of the suffering they've caused.

Anyways, keep yourself and your siblings safe and just hang in there until the legal stuff goes through and you're in the safety of a new home. Try not to push the stepdad too much cause you don't want him to get violent and do anything crazy before you escape from there.

I really hope this lawyer can do what you say they can.

The best part of all of this is that the pressure has molded you into a diamond, and given you skills to generate your income and succeed in life -- something many people may never achieve even in old age.

Best of luck Farrah1! Free yourself from that madness.

I am with you ,,,,too much of selfish people out in the world. I hope you make it big and bring joy to your family....IM is a good tool to freedom. Wishing you all the best. You will come out victorious all will be well.

best of luck ,as long as you have a steady source of income ,we will improve your life and shall get out of there

Update #1
My dad got a call from the lawyer today. My dad sent her several voice recordings of all the screaming, alchoholism and chaos that I had recorded and sent to him.

She filed for emergency custody today on my dads behalf and said the odds are extremely likely we are going to be granted emergency custody within the next 5 days. It's not a total resolution, but it sure as hell is a leap in the right direction. Then, at least we won't have to deal with them while we wait for the permanent custody court hearing.

:):):) I can't express how happy I am that I will be able to finally live in a stable environment where I can just be me and focus on growing my business.

I'm kinda glad my girlfriend left me a few days ago. Now, I don't have to worry about breaking her heart. She just broke mine.

Let's GOOOO!!!

Update #2
The Lawyer Called My Dad Again Today, and The Emergency Custody Hearing is Set For Tomorrow Morning.

The Lawyer Is Very Confident We Are Going To Be Granted Emergency Custody.

Tomorrow Is Going to Be Crazy. I Don't Know How This Stuff Works, Or How My Stepdad and Mom Are Going to React To Finding Out We're Leaving If We Win.

I'll Be Sure To Write An Update Once I Know If We Were Granted Emergency Custody Or Not.

Please Keep Us In Your Prayers.

So you're generating thousands from SMMA but you couldnt afford a 10 grand lawyer. Great story to start off with.

What? I started my SMMA a few months ago. My dad couldn’t afford the lawyer on his own, absolutely not.
