Also is it worth buying through any of the deals with KW Elite 2 I saw one deal for $99 for both?
Does anyone know if there are plans to launch a new SEO Elite? Brad screwed a lot of KW Elite owners and made them pay $$$$
Well Steve, maybe since I created the SEO Elite Training Center for Bryxen Software Inc. two years ago, I can lend you my thoughts.
You'll want to round out your education with Web CEO. It will cost you around $600 for everything or more, and the monthly and annual fees will cost you as well. You can download a free copy to try. I have tried it and it is a monster program.
You can also take the education they provide via SEMPO (Search Engine Marketing Professionals Organization). They have a chapter at almost every university in North America now.
Also head over to
Code:

an check out their SEO Suite. I was supposed to create their training centers as well last year, but I am still bogged down with a very large WordPress Project. It'll cost you as well. About $600 US. You'll want to pick this up as well.
As far as SEO Elite goes, Project One: "Analyze backlinks using a specified search engine," is an excellent program. You will need to read up on using proxy IP numbers and how to not get banned from Google and Alexa Servers. All is included in the training.
SEO Elite is fast enough though. I also use it for Project Five: "Find where your site is ranked for a given keyword(s)." Very useful!
Now as far as updates are concerned, I have had updates as late as this summer. However, the copyright on the About Window still dates the product as 2007! And what others have pointed out Steve, Bryxen Software Inc. does not have any news regarding ever upgrading this product as of this post.
Further, you are correct! MANY Bryxen Software Inc. Customers who purchased Keyword Elite 1.0 were very dismayed about being introduced to the discrepancy regarding the difference between "updates" and "upgrades."
Bryxen Software Inc. got themselves into a corner correcting many of their customers on what the technical difference was. And decided to stand behind their decision waiting for anyone who wanted to challenge them, to do so through legal proceedings.
In other words, Keyword Elite 1.0 Customers, (All 28,000 Plus of them) would not be able to "upgrade" to Keyword Elite 2.0. But were told they could still look forward to receiving any "updates" to Keyword Elite 1.0.
However, there is no news as to when if ever, there will be any further "updates" to Keyword Elite 1.0. And at the time of this posting, the Keyword Elite 1.0 Sales Page is non-accessible. It is clear Bryxen Software Inc. will not be permitting any new sales of Keyword Elite 1.0.
Further to these findings Steve, Keyword Elite 2.0 now displays the words, "Beta" on the start screen, as well as under the "About" screen within the software application. This is clearly to protect Bryxen Software Inc.'s position to continue to make claims this is a "Beta" Version. And not a final release version.
Coincidentally, Market Samurai already has been flogging it's miracle software application with the "Beta" word for over a year now. However, they have released their "Platinum Beta Version." To which great confusion has stemmed as to what exactly this version means.
My understanding is MS Platinum is a Paid Developer's Version. The Final release version is to be released sometime in the next 2-3 weeks. I suspect they are still being challenged by the Adwords Module.
I'm still waiting for news on the Affiliate Schedule from MS. And I haven't. So I have figured it is because MS is not quite ready yet. Otherwise I would have received this module yesterday already. And I didn't.
So, I would say, if you can still get a deal to purchase KE 2.0 along with SEO Elite, then go for it. But you may want to rethink this whole seo business. It will cost you more than just buying the software apps. You have to start somewhere for sure.
Aaron has written the SEO Book. I would advise signing up there and also at
Randall and his gang can sure give you an ear full. They have been selling SEO Services in San Francisco, CA, USA, for several years now.
Maybe get some more advice from them, so you know what to expect in the service business of SEO. I have personally found, it comes down to two types of customers: The quick fix, and the long term. You can try and convert quick fix customers into long term customers, but it is hard to do.
I have found it is best to hook up as a provider to a web design company to get business. SEO is just like law or accounting. It is a daily exercise. Your customers need to understand this more than any other point of SEO.
Once you get them to understand that, you can start writing up annual service agreements with a 30 day notice clause. (Get a lawyer or revise some other SEO Business's agreements to suite.) This is by far the best way to go. It will result in less headaches for you. You'll be able to focus on just a handful of Key clients. And you'll have long term money coming in monthly. You'll get better referrals of the same as well over time.
If you want to do one better, focus on your local market businesses that ship across borders right now. They have the need to reach more customers over the web to help increase sales elsewhere. This reduces their travel costs for the sales reps. And you can help them find where their new markets may emerge.
Well Steve, alot to ponder. Take you time. Set up a plan. Then start to buy all the best software out there. Hope this little insight has been helpful to you and those reading it.
