So, his total risk was 36k with an upside of a million. Many would take the bet if they knew it before it became public knowledge.

And that's assuming no prior testing/scaling operation.

The scam went on for 4 months so I guess the first month would be testing by the scammer. And scaling would take place likely from second month onward. Which means the scammer most likely did not make much from this attempt.

If you're talking about the Bulgarian guy, he finally put US $400.000 in his pocket :)
Nothing been changed up to now by spotify as far as I know.

I'm going for this.
Worst case? Losing few hundred bucks and not getting paid by spotify.

BUT... Still getting noticed, due to the scaling and press release and stuff..
AND... Potentially getting that dream blue mark by providing screenshot and send it to Instagram + Facebook + Twitter etc.
Simply say "Hey, I believe I deserve verification.. I was featured in these medias.. wikipedia... blablablalbala.. attach the screenshot"

Then, if it happens, literally, WHATEVER you do with your social media account is nothing but banking hard.
Tons of endorsements, oh God I can't even think of it.

LOL , even if they paid 4 months = $48k and only 1 month was paid = $288k - $48k = $240k fully legal, sure I guess some won't call that much.
Likely to have been higher than that but hey even if he did "only make this much" ...

If you are going to do this I will be following your journey and giving you some advice if you allow me to.... the real issue with these "scammers" are the greed and the ego meaning if this guy would have not rised to the top 10 of his country people would not have paid attention to it and if istead of 280k/month we hould have been making 100k nobody would have reased an eyebrown, now in order to make the process even better during the testing phase what you need to do is to find a good source of real listeners and mix both example if your budget are $200 usd then you use $170 to buy "listeners and plays" and the other $30 you use them to test pop unders in sites that are entertainment related to play your music in the background, facebook groups the subreddit of /r/music and you share your links in those places to give a sense of real people, you need to see this from the point of view of the company first they are going to analize the information who is very far away from the normal meaning: the accounts who are pushing the most money, the accounts where people spend the least time etc..

Imagine this scenario if you made 1,000,000 of reproductions but all of them just listened 5 seconds wuldn't that be suspicous?

Now imagine this scenario, you made 300,000 reproductions, some listened 5 seconds, others listened to the entire song, others closed immediately, others even subscribed which one do you think it is going to be flagged?

The testing phase needs to be to really understand how they are measuring the things and increase the boundiries towards the limits in the next months, knowing that maybe you will need 2 or 3 accounts to be banned to finally make a nice income from life from it.... or until the greed or ego beats you ;) and make you a target.

Id be keen on seeing this.

Perhaps you should upgrade to jr.vip and setup a JV, I'd definitely get my team to participate in this, spotify is an untapped cash cow and most marketers dismiss it down to the lack of knowledge and/or content.

In fact we should really view spotify as youtube, and when doing so you see it as a basic model: churn content, add in bh magic, monetise.

Hey, musicians here need to create their own thread to discuss think kind of stuff!

It's not just Spotify, it's Apple Music, Deezer, Google Play, Amazon, Pandora.

WTF?? Are you saying all of them have the same model? can you upload the same music to all those places without any problem? how do the manage duplicated content?

Can't you see I'm literally RACING for 100 messages to get that BLUE mark of Jr.VIP? LOL
Oh my God. Shame on me.

YES! Untouched.
Different payout per plays.

PS: Please mod, don't ban me for putting that link. Just to shine a light upon the thread.
I know as newbie I'm not allowed to post a link :weep:

Ya man, if you go to any distributor, you will get an option to upload a single track to quite a few platforms. Duplicated content doesn't apply in this case. Especially if you make the best/track.

And what is the requirement to make an account that gets royalties? can I sign a bunch of "new artist" get the rights to their songs and just upload them everywhere? is are there any limitations? do I need some type of Id? or just to pay to open the account?

For those who do not want to click on the link or whatever this is the list of the different sites where you can upload your music and how much you get paid:

You need your card info for the distrokid account, so you can't just stamp them. Moreover, it's hard to find a good Spotify Panel, so I feel like you have to look into automating this stuff yourself or hire someone. Streaming services are also more protected and secured than social medias and youtube, so you have to be a lot more cautious.

Sounds pretty interesting! Keep us updated op!
If youre planing to do a group for this, come to indonesia in 2months, lets share a villa and lets hustle, i would be in. =D

Sama bro, indo jg ini wkwk
Translated: Same, bro. I'm also indonesian.

Anyway, the spofity got the highest streams which is 47%
That's insane. I doubt they will notice if we start small and scale slowly but sure, will take time but let's be real, it's achievable
I'm running for president for 2020!!!!
Oof, I mean, running for Jr. VIP soon so we can JV on this project :D

Just keep an eye on this thread.

Really interested in this thread as I'm really near to publish some of my music on Spotify :)

Very interesting thread, I am looking to start promoting my band further on Spotify.

Can someone recommend me a reliable Spotify plays service? Preferable UK demographic but USA also fine.
