Can I use my account while botting?

It might work for some people (for a limited time), but doing actions via bot + mobile at the same time is a big red flag, no matter the IP.

IG knows the IP your account used to connect as well as location, browser and device used for current/previous session. (this is why most accounts gets PV or EV when changing proxies)

Other than those information which are raising red flags for IG spam filters; no normal user would use 2 different devices at the same time for doing action = high chance of getting account suspended or limited.

I would not advise you to do this. Increases the chance that your account can be blocked and all your efforts will be lost. Some IG bots have automatic posting functions. Or you can publish through a bot. So there will be less chance of a ban.

I'm just convinced that this is a very bad idea. Instagram now very closely follows such actions. I think that you can be blocked if you do that.

Thanks for the informative answer! What do you think about running the bot at night (when I'm not using the account on my phone) and then turning it off in the morning? I think IG would just assume that I browsed Instagram on my computer at work for example and then on my phone when I come home. Makes sense?

Yeah that would work, however if you use the bot in a VPS with let's say UK ip and you are located in Bolivia, you are shit out of luck. It's best to use bot on your PC, turn it off and use IG on mobile and vice-versa. You should be golden that way.
