Hi, firstly sorry if this is in the wrong eection.

I recently picked up an expired domain DA34 and seems to have kept that since registering, would it be beneficial to copy old articles onto the site to keep old back links alive or start over? I have no intentions of monetising the articles but alot of the backlinks point to some of these articles and don't want to lose power for the sake of a couple of hours on wayback...

Can anyone shed any light on this please?

The old backlinks don't link to the articles but rather to pages on the old site... yeah, recreate those pages so you have them or use a 404 redirect. I personally prefer to recreate the pages myself but you can do a 404 and still be OK.

I've added a couple of those articles, struggled a little with the link structure so used a 301 to the new link hoping that should work.

Just trying my best to preserve the links and domain authority

404 to 301 will work and keep the authority for the most part... there will be some minor loss of juice but nothing huge.

Thanks for the help, everything seems to be sticking so far so just hoping things stay the same or close to haha
