Hello Blackhatters

i have edu emails, i want to know the "benefits of .edu email".

I know about :-
Autodesk, Amazon, Google Drive, Microsoft, LastPass, Github, Free TLD(.ME), Adobe and Digital Ocean.

You can use all kinds of development IDE's from JetBrains for free like: PyCharm, WebStorm, PHPStorm
Normally they cost hunderds of dollars.

can someone tell me if edu mails works internationally or its some specific country only?
 
Where it really comes in handy is certifications. Whatever you're taking, whether it's a Comptia exam, or most medical certifications, the student price is usually 1/2 or less the standard price. When I got my A+ certification I paid $95 per exam, while the standard price is $230. It's like this for CMA as well.

The only exception being certs that require an undergrad degree. Obviously they don't have a student discount since students aren't eligible to sit.

It's also true for almost any trade organization and most conventions. Students usually get steep discounts of at least 50% and often 80%. I'm in about a half dozen trade organizations as a "student" member.
 
Although not directly related to using a .edu email:

There is a huge discount if you take a computer course at a college that participates in the dreamspark program.
I took a CompTIA Networking class a few years ago and after the "drop class with full refund" period had passed, they gave all of us access to the school's dreamspark account.

Basically, for the cost of a few credit hours at a community college, I'm running a legit copy Windows Server 2016 Datacenter on my File/Media server. Obviously more than I need for that role but why not got for the best if you can? :) While I was in the program, I picked up legit keys for every version of every current operating system Microsoft offered. Obviously not here to give them out. Just relaying another .edu-ish discount. The total savings can be in the thousands.
