How can I start making some pocket change with this?

Hi,

So, recently I bought an automated website, which is basically a newspaper. Everyday, several articles are posted on it and I managed to bring it to 50-100 unique visits per day.

The good part is that a very big part of those = people from United States, so there is potential for some bucks.

The bad part is...that it seems I can't even make 1$/day with it right now. I tried several methods. I tried using pop-up ads, but nothing. Now I got ads from Chitika and Exoclick on it, but this seems to not work at all. Not even 1 cent made from those networks combined.

Why is that? I really don't know. But I have a vague idea. I believe that people go to the website, read the news they are interested in and that's it, they close the website, without doing anything else. The thing is that pop-up ads, Chitika and Exoclick all require clicks in order to make some bucks and if people just get to the website, read the news and leave, that 50-100 visits per day are USELESS.

So, right now...I am on a pretty big loss, considering the price I paid for the website + the monthly hosting, which is around 15$. ( I had the website for some months now )

What do you advise me to do? Any method which I should try? I do believe that 50-100 people/day, with a big percentage from US should at least be enough for a 1$/day.

1) dont ever use popup ads on site where u get unique traffic

Yup, I gave up on them pretty fast, because I know how annoying they are.

Regarding your advice about going with AdSense...I don't know what to say. It is an automated website, so basically it takes articles from different sources. The articles which are on the website are not original...so it is not a good idea to add AdSense. I would be banned before I would even receive the payment.

im not sure if that exists , but you might get some rewritting plugin which will make these post unique once they go online.
