IG opens Blue Verification tick application for users

Hold on your horses everyone - IG doesn't verify everyone and has probably the most strict criteria to verify users.

If your account is shit and just reposting stuff, don't even think about applying .

You need to have your name mentioned on newspaper, local listing or on sites like huffpost etc because IG does a background check to see if you really are a local celeb or verified business.

Using a VPN won't work , using a residential or mobile Aussie proxy won't work, using a Australian carrier mobile won't work. You NEED to have local listings at appropriate places (only IG knows that) in Australia in order to get verified. They are not stupid.

PS - whatever I wrote above isn't assumption. IG does background check unless you have a PLUG(IG EMPLOYEE) who can do it for a fee (99.99% of them are fake)

As far as I know both Twitter a Facebook closed the verification forms so now you can’t

I hope you do realize that this doesn't make blue tick accessible to anyone. You still have to verify your account, meaning that you have to be somewhat known figure outside of Instagram to get approved.

This only makes the applying processs easier, not the verification itself.
