"When your social media strategy is to “follow and unfollow” you’ve fully become a clown"

You know what Gary? Fuck you very much mate. F/U works just fine even with accounts as big as 100k.

Why does he post that you ask? Let's dig deeper. Take a look at his bio:

"Investor at Twitter, snapchat, venmo [etc...]"

Are you thinking what I'm thinking? FOLLOW THE MONEY

Think logically. If less people use botting they're more likely to use platform's as service instead. That means more money to Twitter/Instagram rather than madsplanner/jarvee/gmt developers. That means more income for the companies. That means more money going to stock dividends. And among many, who is invested in Twitter, Snapchat and Facebook? Our good ole GaryVee :)

so while a little tweet may not make as much impact, you can definitely conclude that Gary was effectively trying to use his influence and social media presence to try to get more people to not even consider botting, especially one of the most effective methods of them all: F/U

Rule of business #9: never take things/words at face value. Always question and dig deeper. FOLLOW THE MONEY.

That is all for today.

Are you serious? Follow / Unfollow is pretty terrible for building a quality audience. We do it as it is the best way to automate growth on accounts. Follow / Unfollow can, and will lead to poor or mediocre engagement. People will follow you back on this method yes, because they might like your content, but what's also at play is the moral and emotional aspect of 'paying back', which is a follow. This does not mean they LOVE your content or are engaged in the same way they seeked you out or stumbled upon your page / work / content. Like I said, you will gain followers this way, but get your head out your arse if you think this is effective long-term (100k account are you serious....). It's actually quite rude when you think about it realistically, following someone then stabbing them in the back a few days later for self-gain.

And while you are talking shit about Gary and his words (I'm no fan boy), love him or hate him, he is a very successful entrepreneur and businessman. Who the fuck are you?
(just being real.)

I saw a video of him on YouTube explaining how to attract customers through Instagram. he just shows you how to send a DM via Instagram. And I was wondering to myself .. If Gary had known the Jarvee Software he would not have talked like that. what a BS lol spend your life on sending DMs on IG when you can automate it. He knows how to do business and money but when it comes to the tech side I think it's better for him to not talk too much or hire someone who knows what he is talking about.

That's what I don't like about Gary V. Don't get me wrong he's helped a lot of people and I guess he brings value to the entrepreneurial space but I've always disliked people who are so sure of themselves and say things so confidently when they can very easily be wrong. I think he's often wrong but he says these things with so much conviction - basically he sounds like a smartass to me when he says certain things. Guy needs to learn to convey his thoughts for what they are (opinions) and not for what they aren't (facts).

Once you have that fan following people start believing whatever Gary Vee says. I personally think he is an ok person...

Gary is big guy in social media and IM platform but i'm personally don't like him ... in a 2 min short video he uses at least 10-time F***u slang that's insane.

The vaynerchuck guy? yeah hes a boatload of bs, makes money with his motivational talk which he has never practised. Probably got to where he is now by talking about shit he wishes he had done in retrospect than what he actually did

i think it clever how they betrayed thousands daily and dont do what they preach

what a fantastic free income if people are stupid enough to belive in someone good luck.

it not like selling coke or arms on the street, there business are all legal.

He repeats the same points a million times in multiple videos. Annoying af!

Lol. do you've any idea about him?

Makes money with his motivational Tak - Well he does charge $50k-100k to speak at conferences. But he does have a digital marketing company known as Vayner Media in NYC with around 900 employees. His company is a multi-million dollar franchise expanding in various states. He's not those gurus who talk about stuff that they've never done. He's a practitioner.

PS: I'm not a fanboy. Just watched few of his speech before.

Buddy I think he has a ton of value in his vids and he is right in most cases, but you have to do you. So at the end of the day everybody has his/her own aftermath.

and will lead to poor or mediocre engagement

if you use simple cold approach targeting - then yes. Imagine being followed by kim kardashian and F/U whoever liked/commented one of her recent posts. I personally watched guy (named jack, that's all you'll get from me) who did just that and went from 4k to 35k with 6,000-9,000 likes per picture, and seems to grow better as time passes. He's not the smartest one out there, he's just followed by a big celeb (not KK) and abuses the advantage as far as his creativity goes. If he switches targets he'll get even better results, but for now he's just compaining that the bot isn't as effective as it was (target exhaustion, ever heard of it?)

Who the fuck are you?

I run probably the biggest private proxy network in Los Angeles. Started as offering bot services, spread my raspberry pi's around LA and now I have COMPLETELY PRIVATE, truly residential network of X,XXX proxies (won't say how many for security reasons). Meaning no one but me or whoever I personally allow to can connect to them. I'm not rich like Gary, but I was really pointing out how he doesn't say F/U sucks because its sucks, but because F/U literally takes money away from him. He's just leveraging his influence to gain more money. Lots, LOTS of people, hell even my first business partner followed this guy blindly until I call this "gareyvaeeeeyy" guy out on his bullshit..

Exactly. He talks how sending DM's is a good idea, but automating it is bad now? But again, let's be sincere - Gary was talking about F/U method, not automated DMs. Idk what he says about automated DM's so can't judge.

He's the cooler version of a "small loan of a million dollars". Go listen to his story of how he came up. Says he was "slaving" at a job for his father, where he (ahem) made like $50k ytd, untaxed, while he still lived with parents... talk about privileged start?

He repeats the same points a million times in multiple videos. Annoying af!

"You just gotta work hard and never give up man, I know 99.99999% of you will never follow my advice therefore look at how awesome I am giving all this genius advice on how to get super rich FOR FREE because guys, I totally believe in what I'm saying, it's my truth"

He doesnt know what he is doing with Insta

He does one thing right - irl networking. I believe that's the main reason his insta is so big. Proper networking with the right people puts his name/image on anyone's feed when they try to mention "antrapranaeurship". Ugh.

I watched his speeches too. I used to be somewhat of an admirer (never a fan, I'm only a fan of my father cuz you know..) and I just started seeing the constant message in whatever the fuck he says... "have I ever told you what the definition of insanity is? It's doing (saying) same fucking thing over and over and over and over again expecting shit to change..."

what do you expect from a guy in position to say about bots
the guy already got the millions, he doesn't need spam to grow
people who spam are trying to earn a living, they are doing it because their life depends on it
so talking shit on botting when you are in a luxurious position is easy
i doubt he can talk like this if he was an indian or a pakistani living in a village that doesn't even have a sewage
you will not survive a day with your moticational mambo jumbo

Take it with a grain of salt. 99% of the people who use follow/unfollow are doing it incorrectly - meaning they don't get their desired audience. The few that knows how to properly do it have most likely spent 50+ hours pinpointing their audience completely, or do it manually (hence the higher follow-back rate).

For the DMs, you shouldn't automate it. To send out 500 DMs automatically to feel the market, see what people are asking or replying to the first message to then tweak the "money-message" is perfectly fine, but in order to break through today's age is to really personalize it and perhaps even adding value at first glance - something you won't be able to accomplish with bots without sounding spammy.

I always ask myself "are thousands of other IMers doing this exact same thing, where I have zero edge to it? Then find the edge or skip it." - and it's what worked so far and saved me tons of time following down endless roads of failure.

Why do people keep getting so upset with their guruturds? You should have listened in the first place.

It's just insult to the intelligence when someone try to teach me how to send DM on Instagram.
I don't take it personally but I don't see any reason to listen to someone who teach how to send DMs on instagram. I mean, whats the next thing that I can learn from him? How to add members to my facebook group? if one day I will choose to start a carrier as a motivation speaker I will have what to learn from him. but until I am under the spotlights I will prefer to keep my it own way and keep learning. He should copy Tony robbins model and focus on what he is good at. Motivation speaks. to be honest, if someone wants to make money everything is here and for free. BHW is the best place for mastering your marketing skills & tech. I consider this forum as a goldmine. it's like X200 Gary vee
