This article has about the same amount of substance to back up his opinion as the ones on many sites that claim that BTC will be worth <insert random made up super $ amount> and goes to show you that there are those on both sides of the BTC value that just espouse speculative value to espouse speculative value.

I thought we’d finally get rid of bitcoin. But the fake “currency,” which I like to call bitcon, just won’t fade away.

Bitcoin’s price rallied to over $6,600 yesterday, but it had been well under $6,000 last week. Even at $6,600, bitcoin is still worth 70 percent less than it was at the beginning of the year.

I use the term “worth” cautiously because bitcoin is really worth nothing, since it’s backed by nothing or no one. It’s a confidence game that has value only because people are convincing other people that it’s worth something.

Got it! Ponzi scheme. Confidence game. Fraud.

Anyway, bitcoin is headed for a value of zilch. It’s only a matter of when.

It has pros and cons. You can keep debating on Bitcoin. No one can predict it, it can go high as million or nothing. There are also lot other articles praising bitcoin and blockchain technology. Time will tell. Lets see!

To the most of us it's nothing more than a casino/ponzi scheme.
But so many people have invested their time, energy and even life-assets -- to them crypto has a different "level" of value.
As long as the market is being "fed" by millions, it will continue to exist but its absolute value (in terms of USD) will depend on how many people invest into it.

I believe bitcoin has a limit and that limit was reached back last year when it topped at 19k or whatever. Now the hype has died down and its just a matter of years until it stabilizes.

i am a fan of cryptocurrency, and happy with the direction it is going. the fact the value went from 20k down to 7k is just a correction in the market. this is completely normal.

look at the previous years.

however! a lot of coins and tokens are scams.... research is heavily required. in this market a lot of people just follow a trend which is very dangerous.

Bitcoin struggles to sustain the same amount of hourly transactions as a small city. It doesn't have any global reach, logistics have capped this entirely.

The moment you create fiat out of currency it's worth nothing but the value we give it even when backed. Not relevant anyways since our fiats haven't been backed by gold anymore in a long time.
