Hey guys,

Putting it here because I'd like to hear you opinion.

I don't want to be a professional copywriter but I do need from time to time to review and write some
things by myself . Have to say that I now a big fan of writing and doesn't come naturally but I have to do so anyway.

I really need your advice - where I can learn to write decently both in English and Russian.

Well... but any guidelines can be helpful . Maybe some books or blogs to read

Do you have grammarly? It helps with grammar, spelling, sentence structure, readability, plagiarism and word count. Unfortunately not Russian though

Read and write mate and do lots of it.

Find your own style and stick with it... For English learn as much as possible about past, present and future tense phrases and keep all your articles consistent in that sense.

Like anything it takes practise. But stick at it and you will succeed

Do a lot of studying and a lot of writing. I’ve been learning more copywriting and one of the best things you can do is write old school classic ads out by hand.
Read the classics. Twice. The first time through, don’t take any notes. Take notes on the second read. Here are some books to start with:

-Tested Advertising Methods (4th Edition) by John Camples

-Scientific Advertising by Claude Hopkins

-Breakthrough Advertising by Eugene Schwartz

Another thing to do is read Gary Halbert’s newsletter and Boron letters.

Here are two to get you started: "How To Write Better Copy, Faster!"
That’s a good base to start ;)

Man if you don't know the language maybe you should be doing some other work as you might lose too much time and struggle with writing.

I downloaded this back when the links were good

You can try edollarearn if it is still there. Search the download section of this site you may find other materials like pdf ebooks

Read blogs and articles of copywriter experts. Watch tutorials. And try to write anything you like bu yourself. You will improve by every articles you write.

It depends on the type of the writing. Do you want to cover a particular niche or adventure into any fields? If you did a degree in English Literature or Russian Literature, that's a good enough foundation given that it's heavy on essay writing. Just visit the /r/writingprompts subreddit and try to write some essays based on the ideas given there. This way you can build up a portfolio as well as improve your skills.

Yes, studying grammar is a good tip, it can be a bit mind-boggling though, especially with all the exceptions to the rules
