Technically a parasite isn't to rank your site. It's a web 2.0 that you rank and put a CPA offer on it. You can of course use these website as a tier 1 backlink.
In the case of it being a parasite, you've got a dating offer and you rank a wordpress page and put the dating offer on it. In this case you don't link it back to your site.
However, you can also use a wordpress 2.0 site as a way to rank your own website. Lets say you have a website that sells dildos. You could make a wordpress 2.0 blog about different sex toys, and in one of the posts you would include a link back to your own website so that you would get an increase in rankings over time (hopefully).
The parasite method is a way to 'quickly' rank a 2.0 site so that you can gain commissions from the CPA offers on it, whereas using the same platform for your own site takes longer to rank.
When you use a web 2.0 to rank your own site, you need to be mindful of having quality content on it, as well as having these backlinks coming from different I.P. addresses so that it isn't obvious that you're spamming your own site to gain Googles algo. When you're ranking a parasite you don't need to worry about this. You can hit these puppies with a large amount of links and Google will love it. The content on it should still be readable of course. Anyway, I've had a couple of pints of Guinness so I'm not firing on all cylinders with this on but I don't think I've missed anything in. What do you reckon,
