will this be the end of john chow ... his name isn't on the page but he did promote the offer. some say he was the brains behind the outfit.

do a google search for their (now former) affiliates. many of them have suddenly shut down their web pages that claim mobe isn't a scam.

Transaction Management USA, Inc. (US)

MOBE Online Ltd. (Mauritius)

9336-0311 Quebec, Inc., d/b/a Business Education Training (Canada)

Matt Lloyd Publishing.com, Pty Ltd., d/b/a Matt Lloyd Publishing, d/b/a Home Business Builders (Australia)

MOBE Inc. (Panama)

Matthew Lloyd McPhee, a/k/a Matt Lloyd, a/k/a Matthew Lloyd

Russel W. Whitney, Jr.; and

Susan Zanghi

The lawsuit, which is styled Federal Trade Commission v. MOBE Ltd., et al., case no. 6:18-cv-862, is pending in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Orlando Division. In the lawsuit, the Court has entered an order that enjoins the Defendants from certain activities and appoints a receiver for the companies listed above.

John Chow is a great guy so I wouldn't personally revel in any misfortune. A lot of people made legitimate money
with the MOBE program. You can see them testifying to that to the FTC.
 
For those of who don't know could you explain what Mobe is/was?
 
This will be interesting to follow. I've met him a couple of times, he hasn't really done any real affiliate marketing in a while. He was just promoting his brand and MOBE. There's others such as Shoemoney who haven't really done anything in a while either, just trying to live on name they made for themselves when spamming was easier.

Is Zac Johnson also known as John Chow? Am I missing something here?

No, he just writes for the blog sometimes. john chow does the same on Zac's as well. They're old school IM'ers so they do a lot of guest blogs.
 
Johns a great guy, leaned and implemented a lot of what he taught and made some good money myself...but as is in business, times like these are never out of reach. So I will just follow and not say much about what he is going through...

The FTC's request for a Temporary Restraining Order against MOBE is supported by over 4,557 pages of evidence.

This includes:

Declarations from multiple MOBE victims (168 complaints were filed with the FTC)

Citations from MOBE's 2016 case against Digital Altitude.

Evidence collected from transcripts of communications between undercover FTC agents and MOBE staff.

Evidence collected via the attendance of undercover FTC agents at MOBE events.

Evidence collected from multiple banks and payment processors.

Evidence collected from hotels and property leasing agents.

Trademark application filings.

MOBE corporate registrations and filings.

Citations from MOBE's website and compensation plan and MOBE video marketing presentations.

On the basis MOBE is an "illegal scheme", the FTC requested an ex-parte TRO on June 4, 2018.

To date Matt Lloyd, MOBE executives and top affiliates have defrauded consumers out of over $125 million, a figure the FTC describes as "staggering".

Once consumers are lured into joining the program for a modest entry fee of $49. MOBE apply a series of high-pressure tactics to induce consumers to buy their various membership level packages -- starting at $2,497. and progressively becoming more expensive -- with the false promise that consumers will reap substantial returns on these "investments."

MOBE promise even greater returns to those consumers who upgrade to higher membership levels that cost tens of thousands of dollars more.

To close the sale, MOBE even mislead consumers into believing that the MOBE program is risk-free and consumers can get their money back if not satisfied.

In reality, the vast majority of consumers who buy into the MOBE program and pay for these memberships make very little to no money, and many experience crippling losses or mounting debts.

Some consumers have individually lost as much as $60,000. or more to MOBE.

Although MOBE claim to offer a system for making substantial income quickly and easily, the only ones making that kind of money are MOBE and a few insiders.

The entire business model is a fraud.

Interested in this too. I try to avoid all the guru crap, so I'm guessing it was another make money by telling others how to make money type thing? He could be in some serious shit, especially with this being a US investigation and him living in the US.

Though if they did pressure people into spending tens of thousands, then they deserve to get screwed
 
So if you own a small gym and promote the healthy lifestyle.

- You can have a 6 pack.
- Look at the results others get.

Blah blah blah. Then out of 300 members, only 10 achieve such results and the others
stay miserable. Well, are you at fault? Do you know that only like 5% of people who enter
a real Karate dojo achieve a black belt? 5%..

It's the case with anything! The main ingredient in life is you. 4000 or so complaints is nothing
for the volume MOBE did over the years. Go ahead and toss this in the pile of people who...

1) Complain their websites didn't rank after a $200 blackhatworld package.
2) Drink diet cokes all day, eat salads drizzled in fattening sauce and wonder why they can't have a beach body.
3) People not bothering to self-educate.

Oh and here's the cherry on top. Now that I didn't achieve results I am going to blame
McDonalds for being fat, or label ads now fat shaming, or file some complaint because my
life is miserable and I'm not going to do anything about it.

OH and how about all the people getting rich at universities selling people useless degrees, they don't touch that. Or lottery tickets....I see people addicted to that government run psychologically loaded scheme. Double standards are rich.
 
If you stick with a gym you will lose weight, same with sticking with karate you will earn a black belt. Universities never tell people that they can become wealthy from earning a degree, and lottery tickets have the odds written on them.
