As the title says, this is the 4th day in a row I’m not sleeping. Tomorrow is the last day to submit my dissertation and as I passed all my exams last week (I’m still shocked) I decided not to give up on uni after whole this time.

How I got in this situation?

Got a job since 2nd year, working freelance aswell, pub crawling on weekends and so on. And sometimes I can be a lazy fuck, specially when I lose my motivation.

Basically in those 4 days I managed to get 100 page documentation + one app and a shitty power point documentation explaning that shit.

So guys I’m curious how long you’ve been awake and what for. Feel free to share your experience.

See ya

I got up around 4 AM... had a cup of coffee and let 2 of the brothers out.

It's pushing 9 PM and I figure I'll call it a night in about an hour.

Pretty close to as boring a life as one could think if they had no idea of the meat and potatoes in between.

Damn! Such a health risk! I wouldn't even be 10% productive with such sleep deprivation. How do you manage to be productive?

Try 4 days of water fasting and sleep depravation lol

I’ll try it if I’m allowed to drink beer instead :D

4 AM here but I’ll call it a night as well at 5-6 PM

Can’t concentrate when you’re hungry? I eat alot when I’m doing this shit so I think that’s what gives me energy, plus a cup of coffee.

Take some rest, don't push yourself too hard OP!

Sleep is for the weak!! But yeah now I’ll probably take 2 days off lol

My max s 24 hours I pulled an all nighter once in my entire lifetime

Continue this practice to stay awake 4 days frequently for another 10 years and you'll see your nervous system giving up on you. Unless you're superhuman (which I assume you're not since this forum is for regular humans), your brain needs rest. By pushing limits beyond nature, you're forcing nature to get heavy on you in return. Everyone goes through similar phase in teens before they realize sleep deprivation is leading to memory loss, poor nervous system or other health hazards.

You should rest! I am not a scientist, but using common sense, anyone realizes that sleep is fundamental for the proper functioning of the body and mind.
I remember the days when I did not sleep, for some reason, it was tremendously difficult to concentrate.
there is a part of the brain, consciousness or whatever you want to call it, that finds the solutions to many problems, normally we block it with conscious thought.
that's why sometimes after a good night's sleep, great ideas and solutions come to mind.
I remember that when I had a lot of problems I slept more hours, as if by magic I got up with tremendous animosity, with ideas and solutions.

I used to do 36-48 hours every week, work nights and school, then got busy in a day.

My job recently made me work Monday night at 10 and leave Tuesday morning at 6 am then back to work 6 am Wednesday. So I have to sleep for both days or get a couple hours of sleep or up 24 hours

I used to say the same — But no one tells me Now to see the bed when it’s time...

You need to take some mercy on your body. Sleep depriving is a very dangerous thing in life. It is harmful for your organs and the entire body. You may also be suffering from dehydration. Your body needs to reboot and the reboot button is sleep. Please, do yourself a favour and take a nap.

Are you Vampire? Even they sleep in (TVD) :P

You should not do this for sure because you are going to face something in coming time if you'll do it for more time I should not say this but still you're going against nature and that is not a good decision.

Years ago I use to skip 1 night, after a while, I realize I was not productive and healthy at all.

If you sniff that shit, of course, you stay awake days, but you become a zombie.

back in 2011 i started my own company and due to lack of money i worked very very hard. i used to sleep once in every 48 hours so i can use some extra time to work. i kept doing that for at least 3 years and i got a incurable disease in my stomach and now i am permanently sick also now i am having very hard time sleeping. only time i can sleep fine is when i am heavily drunk or couldn't sleep for days. so i would suggest you not to make the same mistakes i did. health is wealth and your body is your temple and you should worship it.

I usualy sleep 3-4 hours and it is possible for a long time :) But still there is some "sleeping time" :)

That sounds really dangerous. Your brain will shut down any minute now. I never went without sleep for more than 35-40 hours, and even then I was barely functional. God knows how bad the situation must be when you're sleep deprived for four days. I wish you all the best and I hope you survive and meet the deadline.
