Is 'Astral Projection' a real thing? (OBE)

I'm going to read more of this. Follow. But lucid dreaming is real imo.

I think people who think that astral projection is real are just talking about very vivid lucid dreams.
I don't believe in "OBEs", but I'm not even sure if you can say they're having lucid dreams. Vivid dreams aren't always lucid, or vice versa. I've had lucid dreams where I'm as blind as a bat for some reason and I've had vivid dreams where I had no idea I was dreaming.

It's not real

And people who say it ain't real never experienced an OBE if you did you would know and feel the difference between an OBE and a lucid dream.

So basically, If I dream I fuck two porn stars, that is real too?
A dream is a dream, an OBE is not a dream.

I've had this hundreds of times as a kid unfortunately as an adult I can't stay focused and shift back to this reality.

Thousands of people had an OBE when they had a NDE (near death experience) even cases where there was no heartbeat, no brain activity and the brain was completely drained of blood while this woman's eyes was covered and yet she had an OBE and could tell afterwards everything that went on, what was being said and could describe what was done.

There is a lot more going one between heaven and earth ;)

Certain monks have been transcending with an OBE with deep meditation for thousands of years.

You could also induce it with certain drugs but I wouldn't advice it, better to do it the natural way.

Lucid dreaming is a real thing also but can be quite scary if you never experienced your body being paralyzed while your conscious is awake.

The movie "Inception" is loosely based on lucid dreaming, I also had several levels in one dream, pretty crazy when you wake up from a dream and then you still in a dream.

Yeah I once had a dream and I was quite sure I had control over most of the things besides I couldn't read the time (try to look at your watch - it's not possible) and I went to sleep in my dream and then things went bad because I didn't know anymore if I was awake or not. I have had this 2 times and in the first stage it's quite cool but after that scary as fuck when you wake up.

For sure. Though if you can have a lucid dream and a vivid dream at once, it does feel pretty special. It's only happened to me once or twice; I felt like I was in a different universe lol. I can understand why so many people believe they've "astral projected" when in reality they had a very vivid lucid dream (in my opinion).

Okay, then what is the difference? Let me guess- it had a different "feeling"? Is it just something "you know" when you're doing it? Yeah, right.

Yeah reading is quite hard, even more annoying is try to type a number or message into a phone.

Oh, definitely! My most memorable lucid dream had some unbelievable clarity and I could see every minuscule details of the mountain I was facing.

I've never tried looking at a watch in a dream, but I know it's possible to read in dreams; I've done it before, even recently.

The one thing I can't do in dreams is see faces, although I have prosopagnosia (facial blindness) in real life. Everybody just looks like Cobra Commander in my dreams.

I lucid dream (LD) regularly. I also have sleep paralysis (SP) regularly. SP is usually a precursor to an out of body experience (OBE)..

I shall explain some scenarios. I may be speaking in 3rd person mostly, but these are all personal experiences..

Lucid dreaming is basically becoming aware you are dreaming, and it gets really vivid. Within LD, you have what is known as a false awakening (FA) which is when you think you are awake in 3D, then you carry on your daily tasks only to find out that you only dreamt it, and this usually leads to a FA loop. FA is always semi conscious and seems very preprogrammed. It doesn't have the same freedom as a LD as in a LD you know you're dreaming, while in a FA, you think you're awake but you're dreaming. My highest loop was 9 levels deep into a false awakening sequence where i had to fight some fkin demon who dragged me back into the dream like 2 times but I got really pissed off and raged at the fucker. The good side of LD is you can get really wild with it. You can summon shit, skydive etc, but I mostly end up making love with the most beautiful women for hours. I also summon women I personally know lol and it's better than the 3D experience..

The difference between LD and SP is that in a LD, you have control of your body whereas in SP you don't or barely do. Obviously you're paralysed and can 'see' the room around you. The room around you though from my experience is a blend between the 3D world and the dream state. You'll find that when you have SP, you usually 'see' everything in the room normally, with a few hypnagogic hallucinations like the classic shadow beings, even the old ass witch lady sitting on your chest staring into your eyes or giant spiders crawling all over your body, or portals opening up in your blanket. It's not always scary. I once saw an inflatable looking dude chilling in the corner looking sad contemplating his life. The reason I know SP is a blend is because I've had multiple SP's where I thought something was happening, then when I snapped out of it I analysed it and noticed minor details like objects in different positions etc. They can get pretty vivid though. I once woke up after a drunk night clubbing thinking I was vomiting all over my bed and choking on it. I felt the wetness & smelt it. Then I snapped out of SP in the same exact position and everything was dry. Nothing happened. Another which happened few weeks ago where I woke up to a sharp pain on my lip and saw a nail from my bed pierced my lip with blood gushing everywhere in realistic spurts. Thought I was really dying, then snapped out of it and it was all clear. Nothing happened..

Okay now let's talk about OBE's. The most clear difference between an OBE and a LD is that a LD is almost always spontaneous. You don't know how it began, you just kinda realise 'Oh hey I'm dreaming'. There are some who can consciously go into a LD, but there's always a state of not knowing you exist, then BOOM LD. But with an OBE, you can feel it..

What you can 99% feel is the detachment of your astral body from your physical body. It feels as if you are a zip which was connected, then being separated. Basically you shall feel the rip. Also most people experiencing OBE's don't fully disconnect. You may usually feel your lower half of your body floating above the bed like a helium balloon, and the most strange part of it is that when it comes in contact with your surroundings, it responds to stimulus. It always starts consciously and you are 99% aware of your surroundings, and you have to will yourself to disconnect from your physical body..

My craziest OBE was 2 years ago. Me and my friend stayed up all night talking about conspiracy theories and I let him sleep on my bed, while I stayed on the floor on some couch cushions. Then the OBE began and I had 2 points of vision. I could see from the normal point of vision which was from my position on the floor under the bed where I saw my phone and all the things under my bed, and also had an aerial view of my friend on my bed and myself. The sound and vision was blurry, but I heard and could see him talking on the phone with his sister from my aerial vision. So I let the split half of my astral self get up from the bed and try stand up, then I looked at my hand and it was see through and I felt like I was standing in 360 degrees. There was no floor, I was pretty much standing on the walls, ceiling, floor and air simultaneously. And trying to balance was the hardest thing ever. Felt like being on a skateboard for the first time..

I've had a spontaneous OBE which was really beautiful. It was after not sleeping for like 30 hours doing university deadlines. I was literally teleported into the clouds and saw the damn horizon and blue sky + clouds for like 5 seconds..

Astral Projection sounds like a good way to loose your mind. That said I've had some OBE's while trying to fall asleep. I would be suddenly standing in my room and I walked to my mirror and looked at myself sleeping in my bed and smiled. Then the whole room warped and I was sucked back into my body

I've never tried looking at a watch in a dream, but I know it's possible to read in dreams; I've done it before, even recently.

My problem is that I can see the numbers on the watch bezel, but the pointers are missing so it's not possible to tell the time. Reading is not what I'm after in Lucid Dreams, so It's not important and I just forget whatever the text might have been.

I think that the biggest obstacle of people trying to do lucid dreaming is that they try the MILD method. Rationality and memory don't really exist in the dream realm before you become lucid, so it's almost impossible to realize you are dreaming by doing daily checks while awake. What I have found to work perfectly is to go to sleep with a certain mindset, you should close your eyes and really focus on the fact that you are going to dream, internalize the idea that the next place you'll be in is in a dream state. Thinking about and reading about lucid dreaming before going to sleep has helped me go into a lucid state like 90% of the time.

I really do not see how this is relevant to BHW.
It's the lounge, that's the whole point of it. It's better than a lot of the other crap in the lounge.

It's real, happened to me when my car went sideways, and I slid down the Interstate like I was on the ice. There's was absolutely nothing I could do; I couldn't even get scared.

I believe it's real. I was super interested in it at one point and tried to do it every day.

I got really close many times and experienced a lot of the sensations that one experiences prior to having an OBE (Vibrating sensations all over, strange noises). I think I remote viewed once, because I could see my body on the bed and look around my room, but I wasn't able to move.

I've had plenty of lucid dreams and a handful of lucid dreams that could have been OBEs, but I'm not really sure there wasn't enough evidence for me to say they were OBEs.

For those of you saying that it isn't real because you personally haven't experienced it, well that's silly. It's difficult to do and it's like training a muscle you've never used before.

Dear I've heard that you need to put a melon under your pillow in order to experience this OBE.
