Indeed, this is one of the best images when it comes to IM and people that struggle to keep up with their self-employment.

Bottom line is that it is very hard in the beginning and it will always be hard if you don't have a financial stable income that supports you. You have a completely different mindset to it.
Failure is a normal part of the everyday life. The biggest mistake you can make is to let failure diminish you. If you learn from you failures and mistakes, adapt to it and accept failure as a part of learning then you will become successful. Because noone has ever succeeded without failure. I remember a quote from Lionel Messi saying "It took me 17 years and 114 days to become an overnight success" - See? The keypart here is that he never gave up and was chasing his dream. It took him a decade but eventually he got successful. And that's what you have to do as well. For now i would recommend that you get a dayjob (maybe parttime 4 hours) so you can support yourself (paying bills and food) and when you get home from you part time job you grind hard. But no fucking around or saying that you are depressed. You have to put in the time and the work. And if you are feeling depressed or burn't out then seek help from a psychotherapist.

Not reading all the comments but I can clearly see what you're lacking here..
Affiliate marketing in not an ideal option if you plan on to make IM, a full time job. Sure you will see some success but consider the amount of work it takes for such unsustainable income. Social media marketing needs lot of time and SEO is very unpredictable particularly when you're starting a new website.

You have to stakeup some cash. Like, $500 and spend a month (or less) on research.

Hints:
- Build a solution to a existing business in the market that make some good $$$$$. Find their expenses, offer them solution. Cut their cost, you fill your pocket.
Of-course, to do this, you must be incredible positive and in right frame of mind to differentiate what is realistic and what not.

- Make some viral shit. Bingo!
Example: I have read a thread here about a website that made tons of money on simple - "What character are you in game of thrones?"
It would be nice if someone post that thread link here. It was just a simple and effective idea. Damn.

Keep on going. Failure is not an option. I know, easier said then done and a major platitude if ever there was one.

Try to see where you’re “doing it wrong” and improve on that.

My strategy for this is to find a couple of great sellers on BHW and eventually simply supply them with some cold hard PayPal cash. And before I hand over my hard earned minimum wage money, I annoy them to death by asking a gazillion questions via dm.

For me this means doing an irl job that is not particularly interesting nor satisfying, but it supplies me with a revenue stream that allows me to “leverage” the knowledge and insight from a couple of cool, nice and knowledgeable people here on BHW.

In the process this also saves me time in having to learn everything myself and probably fail miserably wile I’m at it. And you know what they say about a Jack of all trades...

Keep it up and keep your head high, put in some sweat & tears and utter some curses along the way and eventually you will get there.

No you are horribly wrong. I can't believe you missed the element of sarcasm in my post, but that is probably because of how trigger you got. I will say you are right regarding getting lucky, but you only get lucky when you entirely reduce the risk of failing. 80 hour working-weeks do that, something you wouldn't know anything about.

He can obviously carry on in the long term, but right now his family need feeding and fucking about online why they go hungry isn't success and or chasing a dream. It is stupid.

LOL I'm so glad you've got some professional business advisers as friends lmao. Just tell them Jeff Bezos started in his garage, and he is 1,000,000,000 times richer than them - assuming they have 100 USD of course.
