How much time do you take to write 1000 words article ?

Depends on the topic, if it's something I already have knowledge of.
Depends on what I am writing about, a review, a blog post or something else.

Sometimes I'll use a voice to text software, other times write it as a draft, then improve it.

So anything from 45 minutes to 4.5 hours, depending on research required etc.

I used to take advantage of Dragon Naturally speaking program and just read articles out loud and change of the words so I would say maybe 5 minutes for each 1000 words articles.
200 words per minute? Doesn't sound realistic.

For me, a 1000-word article used to take 2 to 3 hours (sometimes more) to write. This excludes checking for plagiarism and making sure that the article does not look like a rushed high school essay. Some of us are just not meant to write, I think. LOL!

My experience is about the same. OP, if you need to research expect to spend more time researching than actually typing the article.

Most people can't type that fast...

"The average person types between 38 and 40 words per minute (WPM), what translates into between 190 and 200 characters per minute (CPM)."

Maybe he means 200 characters per minute... hah.

It takes time for researching.
After analyzing topic and points, it takes 2 hours to me.

Yep, i think 2 hours is the average and respectable time, but if it requires lots of research and you want to make it realyl shine, it's not unsuaul to take 4 hours to do

10 minutes to 1 hours depending on i would write or just rewrite using article spinner also depends on the content quality :)

I have been writing for more than three years. I have also work on freelancer.com. Writing a thousand word article is not a difficult task. I can write it in a hour and a half. Content writing requires practise and thats all.

Your 20 minute 1,000 word articles are a pile of shit and everyone knows it.

well i would suggest you to look for topics, spin words a bit and use your own words, your content has to be unique

it takes me approximately an hour.

nice tip: you can increase the number of pages you want with the words you have. change the spacing to double and change the size. goodluck :)

Quality is the name of the game for me. I have NEVER been able to finish a 1000-word article within few hours, and I have been writing since several years.

Every writer has his/her strong points. Speed is not my forte, I guess.

The 'average person' also types slow as all hell.
Back before I developed carpel tunnel syndrome, I could type about 140 wpm no problem with basically complete accuracy.
While 200 wpm is a bit crazy, there's a lot of people out there who can type almost that fast.

Anyways, the guy was talking about using voice to text software, not typing.

To answer OP:

Probably takes me an hour or two, depending on the research required.
Probably less if it's a really basic topic.
