I am holding a few domains and they cost me like 200 bucks annually for renewal. I think they are gold but after a year and paying the renewal i have started to doubt it lol. Anyone care to give me advice havnt shared domain names here cause it might be against the rules dont want to sell them just want to know if what i am holding is it really worth it

can you pm me your domain? wanna take alook
If Your domain has a brand Well it's gold and you might want to start branding it instead of holding it for years.

That's really up to you. I don't know what the domains are but it's extremely rare to get ahold of anything that's worth a decent amount just by selling. They're only worth anything if you plan to build them into something valuable. If you stay undecided for too long you'll just end up dumping money into an empty pit.

A friend recently bought a domain for the .co.uk version of his company name for 5k, the guy bought it for min price when it expired and resold it to him. Its worth it to check is you have any brand names in there.

I see your point i have just posted on namepros let me wait and see

I bought a domain a week ago for $88 and sold it for $1,487 today man. Other names I've sat on for years with only a couple inquiries. The domain industry is a wild one.

If you do not want to sell them why are you holding them?

I'll hold them until they sell for what I believe is a fair price. The renewal fee is peanuts in comparison to what I think they'll sell for eventually. The whole thing here is that most people overvalue their names, and I honestly feel as if I have a very very good idea of what they're really worth after doing this for about a decade now profitably.

holding domain can make $$$ ? i have to learn lot technical way of earning :).
Domaining can be very profitable with the right plan, the ability to track your portfolio well, and patience. I have set up a plan which nearly eliminates losing money in domaining. It's very low risk, medium reward..more so volume based than anything.

I'm curious, Did the appraisals turn out like you had hoped? What are the criteria on which they appraise your domain. What do you consider a "fair" price?

where did you sell such a domain? because I am having trouble unloading mine

You can sell domain names on auction sites, domain selling forums etc. If you've a brand name domain they will contact you sooner or later.

aged domains do have some residual value and are easier to sell, but a lot depends on the traffic levels or if they are just parked domains. I cant count the amount of times i have had a "bright" idea, brought the domain and then done nothing with it! and renewed for a year or 2 before having a clear out :) but if you have had then for a while and some possible traffic you could try sedo.com and park them with a bid price
