Ok guys, I just put the finishing touches on something called vApps at one of my sites called Tweetborder. vApps allows you to put a custom "from" line with a custom link on every tweet. You know the part of every tweet that says "posted 23 minutes ago from web"? Well how about "posted 23 minutes ago from http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/#". These go on every tweet posted through your vApps, and you can create as many different custom from lines as you want. The link can take users anywhere you want, and the target can be changed on the fly at any time. Each custom from line can only be registered at Twitter by 1 person - meaning you need to get the ones you want before everyone starts doing this.
This way, you can post any non-spammy messages you want and every single one still has your custom linked text. As you may know, twitter's been ban-happy recently, and a big factor in that is how many links you're posting. This does not affect that number, and it looks more like something Twitter put there as an ad. Clickthrough rates on this are very high, in part because people aren't yet sure what to make of it. If you've seen "X minutes ago from Click Here to See Me Naked" that was me testing
. Another cool thing is that you can change the text AFTER you post tweets - you just change your application name at twitter and it's instantly updated across all past tweets.
In a couple of days we are releasing a version of Super Duper Auto Tweeter that can post through your vApps instead of directly through the API - meaning you can post to an unlimited number of accounts really quickly and have every tweet bear your custom linked text.
It's free for now, but we're probably going paid in a couple of days. The people who sign up before we go paid will be able to keep their free accounts for at least 60 days from the time we do it before we drop the free accounts. BTW, I'm well aware that the interface could look better. Right now we're just busy building functions. One of these days we'll put some lipstick on it.
