Hi
I'm experiencing a sharp drop in mobile traffic since April 10th.

Can't figure out what's going on. The number of indexed pages didn't drop. It doesn't seem like a ranking penalty cause CTR and average position stayed steady. The only thing that seems to magically drop is the number of impressions and clicks.

This is only for mobile traffic. Desktop traffic remained steady without any changes.

Any ideas what's going on?

Big G has updated their core algorithm for mobile in March, and another core update was implemented on April. Although the mobile SERP has stabilized, it appears that the desktop SERP is still fluctuating.

Thus, this could be a G-dance for your site - as every site is different, and the update could be on a different schedule.

A few things that you can do -
1) Take a look at AMP or possible implement that
2) Check your site's structured data and see if there are any error
3) Check whether your site has a penalty

I dont think it's a penalty (I would experience a drop in rankings if it was a penalty). It's strange but average position haven't changed. It's like a big chunk of impressions simply vanished.
We dont have any structured data.
