Hi guys.

I have a question mostly for the Admins and also to see what the other members think.

Crypto has grown a lot lately and is accepted more and more but apart from actually buying BTC, ETH etc there are limited ways of getting these. But there are Mining Pools where you can mine online and earn through them. Most are scams but there are quite a lot that actually pay and are worth the investment.

Now the question: Could it be possible to create a Sub-Forum where BHW members can post the sites they have found and through input from other members determine if they are a scam or legit?

No affiliate linking or promotions just simply members sharing the site and others giving input and payment proof if they have to show if the site is real or not.

Only one thread per site.

What do you think?

More work for mods, there is a crypto section already, it would very quickly get abused. Remember this is a open forum and shows up on blogs via RSS, so if a scammer sees activity they could join, recommend something, scam and go.

I would not purchase crypto currency if i were you. I would purchase power to generate/mine any crypto currency by yourself. Just see my table down there how much profit investments can make you

And then you need to minus electricity, the cost of the hardware etc etc etc and maybe just maybe you could make money years from now. That said, you also need the $$$$ to buy the hardware in the first place. Using your home pc or laptop will cost you more than you ever make.

No, you can't make money of mining. Even the most professional firms with millions of dollar of equipment and cheapest electricity are barely profitable.

And in the long run, it's also bullshit. For one simple reason. This: https://blockchain.info/de/charts/difficulty

Don't fall for cloud miners. You will never get back what the BTC you invested.

It depends on which crypto you mine. BTC is pointless to mine but there are other that have a lower difficulty that you can still mine. Problem then is just the amount you need to mine in order to get a decent return.

Yes. You might be profitable for a month or two. Nevertheless, the difficulty will increase fast and then again you won't be and you wasted your money for a new graphics card. In the long run, it's always better to just buy the coin you believe in instead of trying to mine it.

If you are lucky enough to buy the right coin at the right time you can make some good $$ from it.

There are many new ones and finding them isn't always as easy.

Probably not as this is the first time I have seen that request and unless there is interest it that idea from a multitude of people it is not something that BHW would implement.

Back to the ops question, are you simply suggesting that the BST section of BHW have a crypto section, so those running services / sites could advertise subject to moderator review?
