Just read all the way through this mega-thread and there are a lot of people who are getting hung up on using Shopify for their online store. I am thinking of giving this method a go myself but am probably going to create a web shop using Opencart or Prestashop rather than Shopify. I have already downloaded both of these ( free downloads from the respective websites) and install it on my VPS and I have a professional looking webstore setup a few hours.

I have never used Shopify so perhaps it is easier to use for newbies but if people are thinking that they want to keep costs low and avoid Shopify fees once the trail period is over then you could get some webspace and domain for about $10 per year and you can get free SSL certs with letsencrypt so that you can offer https connections for your site.
If you don't like Prestashop or Opencart there are a lot of free shopping cart solutions available, I know a lot of people like Woocommerce but as its built on top of Wordpress I think it is perhaps a bit more vulnerable to security holes than ecommerce software that is built from the ground up to be a shopping cart.
I am now going to spend time reading up on Facebook ads, I am already signed up with a drop shipper that i use to sell stuff on ebay. So if it works out the same price or cheaper to spend money on FB ads as I am currently paying in ebay fees to get sales then it will definitely be worth while for me.

Now Facebook allows you a credit of a certain amount which is more than enough to start getting sales and start banking.

Dead method and some bad basic information in original post.. facebook do not allow free+ship method anymore and increasing your successfull ad budget is not a wise move, always duplicate.

Ok, I created my store, added products and set up the FB ad today. So far the ad has 200 impressions but with only 1 click and no sales and has cost me just under $5.
Should I can this ad and create a new one or give it longer to see if it starts performing?

Just read the whole thread. It seems the main problem of other than shopify platforms is payment gateway that accepts drop shipping, most prominently stripe has that problem.

Except, when from some top tier countries plus wholesale agreements from AliExpress sellers.

Is there anyone who has succesfully negotiated one such agreement from AE sellers?

Select a plan, put the details of your credit card, they will charge you $ 1 and that block will be removed. By the way, there is a method that you can have a free shopify shop (the first 50 sales), search the forum.
