[HOW-TO] Get A Do-follow Link From Google (Chrome)

Thank you @Leith for this great share, I really appreciate it. Already got two developer accounts with links :) I was considering Jr.VIP long time ago and will likely get it following weeks.

Here are some things I came accross when setting up the links.

1) Your displayed developer's name is set globally for the whole account so the anchor text / brand URL that you set there will be used for all extension submissions. So to get backlinks for various websites you will need various Google accounts (as pointed previously in this thread).

2) When doing multiple extension submissions within one account (to get backlinks for homepage and also inner pages), I got flagged after 4 submissions. The extension looks innocent (healthy recipes niche), but they blocked the following submissions for submitting duplicate / similar content. Resulting in 4 live extensions and 2 consequently blocked. Still, those are 8 live links! :)

3) One of my extension sites is already indexed, but when looking at the Google cache (searching for query "cache:https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/... ..."), the content with the link is not displayed (showing "An error has occurred" message as in the attachement. Hope that this will resolve with time.

Overall, very easily available high value link. Thank you! :)

Glad it worked for you.

1. Yep, not much to get around that at the moment.
2. Correct - a manual review could potentially get all of your extensions removed if they aren't set up correctly or in a legitimate way.
3. Give it some time :)

I have already have an app on Google Chrome web store, the page is indexed but strangely i can't find it when i search in the store itself

I've noticed it can sometimes take weeks at the very maximum to get indexed within the search results in the store.

BTW guys, I've had a lot of messages from members who have upgraded, pretty awesome :) Will try make a start on the next thread over the weekend.

I'm guessing this is probably a spammy tactic? (compared the the legit method you intend to share)

Correct. The above is just a post (essentially a "semi-private" web 2.0) on AWS. The URL is something like:

https://s3.eu-west-2.amazonaws.com/profileusername/post-name.html

Wouldn't say it's a spammy link, but not as strong as a branded link from Amazon.com. Something like:

https://www.amazon.com/post-name/..../.........

Btw Leith - would you say this is only for money sites? E.g. you wouldn't recommend this to give strength to one's PBN sites?

I think you've overthinking this. This is just a standard backlink like any other with the difference being it comes from the Google webstore. You could very well use these links to power up a PBN site, I don't see any issues with that.

Btw, won't creating more links dilute the power of the first link? Or are the links created on separate pages?

No - because you get separate listings. You'll need to give it a try mate to understand how it works :)

Aweome thanks. Final question - I'm still not sure what we're actually submitting. As I understand it, Google Chrome Store is for plugins and addons that aid the functionality of the Chrome browser. What function does this app that we're producing do for Chrome?

The app itself is merely a way to get a backlink from your site onto the Chrome store, but without the plugin, you can't have a listing present and you don't need someone to download the plugin for there to be a positive result in the serps.

Thanks for sharing, Leith. Your posts are always great. IDK what happened to that huge post you made a while back that was pinned at one point. I was looking for that.

I resubbed to JR VIP, can't wait for the next post.

Thanks, but I still don't understand what the app actually does.

Explained it perfectly well :)

I've got it bookmarked on my laptop, I'll post the link when I'm back on it.

Thanks, but I still don't understand what the app actually does.

The app has no basis in terms of ranking and doesn't have a function in that if you install it, it won't do anything for you. Whereas the Moz app shows your the domain metrics.

The only way to get the back links is to upload a dummy app with the keyword as the app title.

Thanks! It's a bloody great idea, and thanks again for sharing it.

Thank you for explaining. Finally I understand! Okay got it, it's a dummy app... this actually crossed my mind before, but I dismissed it and thought that can't be the case, since:

a) It seems blackhat to me, and one is basically stepping on Google's toes, virtually asking them to penalize you.
b) And even if Google didn't punish you, why would they approve a dummy app which does absolutely nothing and serves no purpose anyway...

The beauty of it though is that because it's not an app that can run any malicious code, they'll let it be. I think issues would arise if it was pointing to dodgy sites, like warez, pharma and the like. Or if spun content was used. If you install it, it will add the button to your browser. I've not tried though to see if it'll send you to the page that is linked in the app.

Worked. And App is Published. Also, I don't think we need to another site in 3rd Step, We edit via Notepad Easily.

One more reason why I am going to buy Jr. VIP soon.
It was a very nice striptease , I will Surely cum soon on Upgrade ;)
