[HOW-TO] Get A Do-follow Link From Google (Chrome)

I have an ecommerce website and have different sales pages ranked, so i am wondering.. if i placed each page with a link from this, would that be ideal or should i choose one page to backlink or just do the root url?

The icon for the file just tells you what your computer has set as the default program to open that type of file.

You just need to right click the manifest.json file and untick always open with, to remove the default program association for that filetype

I don't understand what the problem is.

Unless I'm misunderstanding something, that icon shouldn't have any bearing on anything.

You should just be able to open it at https://jsoneditoronline.org just like he said without worrying about the icon which in no way impacts the contents of the file.

That sounds like an error from uploading to Google not from trying to open the .json file to edit it. Which are you having the problem with? (either way, the issue is not the default program you have set to open it on your PC)

Have you actually done the edits described in the OP?

Did you resave the file with the edits?

Did you recompress the zip file with all the files and folders in the same place?

Is it that new recompressed zip file that you're uploading?

There's no part of this that is going to be disrupted because you accidentally set your PC to open json files with wordpad, you've got to be missing a step somewhere else.

A total of 7 links to my site, two were specifically for this keyword, two were specifically for another keyword, and three to homepage.

It's 50k MS.

I'd say this works.

Did you include the "ext" folder layer in your zip file? (It looks like you did from the screenshot, but shouldn't if you look at step 3 as well as the error message it's giving you)

If you did, re-zip just the 5 folders and json file in a new archive without the "ext" level.

That way the json file will be in the root directory of the zip like the error message is asking.

The best way to rank in 2018 is building strong links that others don't know about. It's not easy finding these links but hopefully with a few I share over the next few months you guys can get a bit creative with the "process".

P.S. Here's another one we used these links on recently. All we did to this site was a strong foundational campaign (brand/generic/naked URL's and so on) and once I felt the base was sufficient I hit it with around 7 of the extension links. Will give this a few more weeks to settle and then will finally bring out the PBN links to give it that boost towards the top. Ranking in 2018 isn't necessarily hard; you just need creativity with the link building and some patience.
