Is Facebook Replacing Websites!?!?

Hello fellow blackhatters. I am currently looking for businesses in my lcoal area with no websites, so that I can offer web design services. BUT as I do my research I'm seeing a lot of business just have a facebook page. and they are pretty good honestly.

Q. I wanted to know if Web design is still even needed in 2018 when small business can just build a facebook pages and connect to locals?

Should I offer a different service? If so What should I offer? what's hot in 2018

Offer management of their Facebook web page, I'm pretty sure they can add you to be able to modify setting and post promotions etc for them.

Yes, lots of reasons for Businesses to have websites, even in 2018 and Im quite certain beyond.

You can easily find businesses that do not have websites, by using a tool like the one in my sig, that scrapes and harvests data from around the web in various places.

Yes, websites are still important as it is a place on the internet the business owns and controls. You need a place for your own lead pages, your own customer database, searchability (if that's a word), etc.

As amazing as Facebook is right now, it's just a marketing channel and is completely controlled by Facebook. They've already hit facebook businesses by limiting the organic reach from business pages a few times over the past few years. The only way to quickly expand on Facebook is to buy ads, and the prices of ads will only rise over time. Inevitably, they will slowly squeeze out businesses that don't have the budget and/or profit margins to be able to scale with it. This is why businesses need to think long-term, use multiple marketing channels, and have their own internet property to drive traffic to.

People need to keep in mind they have control over their own business websites, but Facebook, Twitter etc you are basically at the mercy of the platforms owners.
